THE MYSTERIES OF JESUS CHRIST 1 (UNDERSTANDING SIN AND RIGHTEOUSNESS)
Luke 23:44 And it was about the sixth hour, and THERE
WAS A DARKNESS OVER ALL THE EARTH UNTIL THE NINTH HOUR.
Luke 23:45 And the SUN WAS DARKENED , and the veil of
the temple was rent in the midst.
Luke 23:46 And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit: and having said thus, he gave up the ghost.
The life, the
ministry, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ sound unreasonable to the unregenerated mind because it takes faith only to understand Him. Apostle
John recorded in the scriptures that God became a man and He dwelt among us (See John 1:1-14). God Almighty took
on man. Why didn’t God Almighty become a woman when He came to
earth? It was because the woman came out of the man.
Without the man,
the woman would never have existed. The woman depends on the man (See Genesis 2:18).
This shows us
how important man is. The Creator of the whole universe became a man not a
woman, and He dwelt among us in the person of Jesus Christ. The Heavenly Father laid our sins
upon Him. There was no sin in Him because sin cannot dominate Him. His holiness
will counter-attack when Sin tries to dominate Him. The birth of Jesus Christ
was supernatural because it was not through sexual intercourse. Jesus Christ
did not have an earthly father because His birth was supernatural. The Holy
Spirit breathed into the womb of a virgin woman called Mary and she conceived
Jesus Christ (See Luke 1:26-35).
We assumed Mary to be the earthly mother of Jesus Christ because she carried the
seed of Jesus. We assumed Joseph to be the earthly father of Jesus Christ
because he was the husband of Mary.
Jesus Christ
lived a perfect Holy life because He fellowshipped with the Holy Spirit and
with His Heavenly Father consistently. Get my book entitled “How to Walk and Live in the Spirit”
for a deeper revelation on how Jesus Christ lived a sinless life and how He overcame
the power of sin. There is a mystery in the scriptures I want to share with you
about the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Luke, the Gentile
physician, a disciple of Jesus Christ and a follower of Apostle Paul, records that
total darkness overtook the entire earth when Jesus Christ was on the cross. This
is a great mystery all Christians should know.
At the beginning
of creation, Moses records in the book of Genesis that there was total darkness
on earth and the Spirit of God moved upon the surface of the deep (See Genesis 1:2-3). Before God
could create, He needed light because darkness was preventing Him in His
Creation. Without the light, God could not create; Therefore, He commanded that let
there be light. The light was Jesus Christ (See John 1:1-5). Without Jesus Christ, God Almighty could create nothing.
Jesus Christ was the Light of God’s creation. Darkness could not stop this
Light from appearing. Satan and his minions were dominating the earth with misery, destruction, death, ignorance, sorrow, and wickedness. The battle started before God started His creation. There was a battle
between righteousness and evil in the beginning. Jesus Christ won the battle in the spiritual realm before He came to earth to manifest the victory (Meditate on John 1:1-5, Revelation 13:8).
The death
of Jesus Christ was a manifestation between evil and righteousness. In the
agony of Jesus' death, Satan and His minions thought they had won the battle.
Darkness dominated the earth. The hope of mankind diminished as
Jesus Christ was in the process of death. Death connected with the grave and grave
connected with Satan when Jesus Christ was about to die. That is why we saw
darkness all over the earth.
Within that
hour, there was an intense battle between God’s Kingdom and the Satanic
Kingdom. If God Almighty did not forsake Jesus Christ at that hour, Mankind
would not have received salvation. The first Creation (Adam and Eve) willfully gave their authority to Satan in the beginning
through their disobedience. Jesus Christ had to retrieve the power from Satan
and his minions through His blood because the antidote for sin is holy blood (See Matthew 6:28, Hebrews 9:22, Leviticus 4:3,
Numbers 6:14).
The sun
became darkened because the Light of the world (Jesus Christ) carried our sin. Our sin overshadowed the sun
for a temporal time because God Almighty had to combat the creation of Sin. I will briefly explain the mystery of iniquity in this article. The
original name of Satan (Archenemy of righteousness)
was Lucifer (bright morning star).
He was an angel of light because he was perfect (See Ezekiel 28:14-19). He became
corrupt when He created sin. The creation of God did not know sin until Satan
created it. That is why we see wickedness in the animal kingdom, the spiritual kingdom,
metaphysical kingdom and in the earthly kingdom. God Almighty knows all things, but He did not use His ability to know and determine the future of Satan.
God did
not predestine Satan to be a sinful being because He did not interfere in his future.
Satan could have lived with God forever in Holiness if he had not sinned. Sin originated from
Satan because He created and manifested it. His thought became independent of God’s thought.
Any thought that overrules the thought
of God becomes abominable in the spiritual realm (See Proverbs 6:16-19, 1 John 3:4). The reasoning of Satan
created a virtue called Sin. The thoughts of the holy angels were always in
connection with the thoughts of God until Satan (originally his name was Lucifer) manufactured a new thought (SIN) in
Heaven. Mankind would have perfectly understood the Trinity if Satan had not
created the law of sin.
The thoughts
of Satan opposed the thoughts of God. His thoughts created a new seed in the
spiritual realm and it became a mystery in Heaven. Apostle Paul called this virtue “the mystery of iniquity” because
none of the heavenly beings knew of this thought. It only came out from the
thoughts of Satan (See 2 Thessalonians
2:7).
The question is, did God Almighty knew that Satan would oppose Him. Well, we know that God is omniscient (He knows everything). Some mayargue that God knew Satan would
sin. God knows the future, but he does not determine the future of His Creation.
The best example I can give you is the trial of Abraham. Abraham heard the voice of God through the voice of an angel when he determined to sacrifice his son
Isaac. This is what God said to Abraham through the voice of an angelic being “NOW
I KNOW THAT THOU FEARETH GOD.” (See Genesis
22:12).
In other words, God did not know the thoughts of Abraham until he was tried . God was able to determine the heart of Abraham when he willfully obeyed Him. Abraham could have disobeyed God, but he used his will power to obey God. Satan could have done the same thing, but he chose to disobey God by his will power. Adam and Eve could have done what Abraham did, but they chose to disobey God by obeying Satan. God counted it unto Abraham as righteousness because of his faith in Him and in His Word.
The question is, did God Almighty knew that Satan would oppose Him. Well, we know that God is omniscient (He knows everything). Some may
God has
not predestined us to conform to His will (Word) because He has given us our will (free will or the will power of mankind).
He does not dictate for us. Let me give you another example to explain this truth.
In your room, you have a wardrobe of cloth and within the wardrobe, there is a
box of gold which nobody knows. You have the ability to know that there is
gold in your wardrobe, but you have determined not to know whether there
is gold in your wardrobe. You have chosen not to know that there is gold in the wardrobe, although you have the abili ty to know that there is gold in the
wardrobe.
That is
how God made Satan, God knew that Satan can create sin but He did not decide
that Satan should sin neither did He used His ability to determine the future
of Satan. Satan could have lived with God without creating sin. The power was
in the hands of Satan to choose because he had his will.
So, for
the power of sin to break, Jesus has to die and rise on the third day. This is
another mystery I will share with you some other day. Jesus Christ lives in us in the person of the Holy Spirit. The death and resurrection of Jesus Christ
created a doorway for mankind to reconcile with the Heavenly Father. The light
in Jesus Christ lives in the heart of every Christian. Every Christian has
power over sin, hopelessness, disease, poverty, and corruption because Jesus
Christ broke the power of Satan through His death and resurrection. His
resurrection brought power to Christians, and it is our duty to exercise this
power using His name as a symbol of authority.
Divine
Key: Jesus Christ has power and authority over every force in this world and
outside this world; therefore, exercise faith in His name.
