HOW FAMILIARITY AFFECTS THE ANOINTING OF THE HOLY SPIRIT ON THE MINISTER OF GOD

Mark 6:3 Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, the brother of James, and Joses, and of Juda, and Simon? and are not his sisters here with us? And they were offended at him.

Mark 6:4 But Jesus said unto them, A prophet is not without honour, but in his own country, and among his own kin, and in his own house.

Mark 6:5 And he could there do no mighty work, save that he laid his hands upon a few sick folk, and healed them.

Familiarity has prolonged and destroyed the miracles of many Christians. People are in their sickbed because they have allowed familiarity to cage them. Familiarity has blindfolded the anointing that could have delivered them. Most Often, close friends, families, and co-workers visualize an anointed vessel from his historical background. Parents always see their children as “kids”. The person may be above twenty years, and yet the parents will still see the old person as a kid because they gave birth to the person.

Old age is not always maturity because maturity begins from your thought pattern and how deep you value the Word and walk in the light of God's Word. People who used to play, eat, and move together with you are the ones that limit the blessings and anointing of God upon your life because they see you as they see themselves. Most wives of anointed men limit the anointing of their husbands because of what happens in the house.

This is one of the reasons anointed people cannot make exploits in their communities. The people around may have seen the weakness and errors of the minister of God. God works with people who are willing to obey his Word. God looks at the honesty of our hearts. God is willing to work with our imperfection. This is one of the reasons we all need the Holy Spirit in our lives.

We need the Holy Spirit to help build the bad side of our temperament. From the Word of God, we could see the people of Nazareth visualized Jesus by His profession. They rated Jesus Christ by His family background. This is one of the reasons we should totally depend on God for help than to depend on men because most men and women will fish out for what they can get before they commit and follow you. 

Someone who loves you unconditionally is the best person you should allow in your inner sanctum. Someone who sees your weakness and still walks with you. You need someone who can help you build a godly character, not people who want you to be "Mr or Mrs. Perfect" before they love you. Some people are called to defend and protect your calling. You must surround yourself with such people.

The people of Nazareth were offended at the miracles and the works of Jesus Christ. They became enemies to Jesus Christ because of his siblings, parents, and profession. A minister of God may fail to work miracles in a community because of how the people perceive him.

• The fact that the minister of God is your close friend does not mean He is not anointed.
• The fact that the minister of God has some character problems does not mean that God has disapproved him (David was a shepherd in the family yet he was the one God anointed, God used Prophet Samuel to anoint him, his family despised him, yet God approved him).
• The fact that the minister of God plays with you does not mean that you are his co-equal.
• The fact that you are older than the minister of God does not mean that you are above him.
• The fact that the minister of God is from a poor home does not mean that you can dispose him.
• The fact that the minister of God does not have a good job does not mean you can speak evil against him.
• The fact that the minister of God does not meet your requirement does not mean that God has not approved him.
• The fact that the minister of God does not have enough money does not mean He is not anointed. (Apostle Peter did not have money to give to the lame beggar at the temple, yet he had the anointing to heal the lame beggar (See Acts 3:1-7).
• The fact that you can approach the minister of God anytime does not permit you to backbite and talk to him anyhow.

Anyone who does not believe in your calling and anointing is not called to follow you. If you don’t believe in the anointing of a minister of God, kindly shut your mouth and disengage from the anointed vessel, or else you bring a curse of God upon your life and your generation.
