some, pastors and teachers;

edifying of the body of Christ:
Ephesians
4:13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith , and of the knowledge of the
Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness
of Christ:
Under the old covenant, God used prophets,
kings, priests, and Judges as His mouthpiece. The Holy Spirit came upon them when
God wanted to speak to them. God spoke through a few people who were not in the
priesthood and kingship lineage. The reason God could not use these people was that
they were not sanctified in His sight. The Holy Spirit had not made a permanent
habitation in their heart.
Under the old covenant, after the Spirit
of God spoke through the person, He lives the person. They stoned prophets who
spake lies. In our time, the blood of Jesus Christ has made it possible for the
Holy Spirit to stay with us and in us. The blood of Jesus Christ has destroyed
the invisible veil. The Holy Spirit can access our life anytime He wants. We
can also access the mind of God anytime we want.
God has given us His Word to enable us to connect
with Him. Jesus Christ paid the price with His blood. He has given us Pastors
to take care of the church. The church is a community of people filled with the
Holy Spirit. It is a place of unity and love. The church compasses of Christ's
body. When two or more people meet in the name of Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit
comes in to be the witness.
Today, we have pastors who feed the
church. The pastor feeds the church with spiritual food (Word). It is like a shepherd
who guards the flock. The shepherd must protect the flocks from wolves and
other wild animals. Failure to check the condition of the flock puts them in
great danger because some flock may be sick.
The shepherd serves as the overall boss.
He fights wild animals and covers the flock. David is the best example to
follow. A time came when a bear and a lion came to attack his flock. The Bible
states that David arose and fought the lion and bear. David stood on his ground and fought the two
beasts.
The lion and the bear are symbols of the
devil. The devil works with demons and human beings. He uses them to enforce
his plans. The devil seeks to destroy the church, and it is the duty every
Pastor (Shepherd) to protect the church. The question is, how should the pastor
protect the church?
The pastor must not fight enemies with
sword and weapons. The pastor must be intercessor because we fight the
invisible enemy with the Word, prayer, the blood of Jesus and other mighty
weapons. Every pastor must develop the habit of prayer and watching because a
church without prayer is powerless. The pastor must feed the congregation with
the pure Word.
- Failure to feed the Church will make the Church weak in the spirit.
- Failure to pray for the church will make the body of Christ carnal.
- Failure to watch will open the door for the enemies to break into the church.
- Failure to encourage the church will break the Spirit (fruitfulness, gift, and the fruit of the Spirit) within the church.
- Failure to help the church will discourage weak Christians.
- Failure to lead the church will bring confusion.
- Failure to fight the enemy will destroy the church.
- Failure to visit the members will make the members uncommitted.
- Failure to feed the church with the right spiritual food will activate the anger of God.
Divine Key: The heart of the Church rests
in the heart of the Pastor, therefore, develop a compassionate heart.
