Understand the Word (Holy Bible) in Seven Minutes
The
Word of God (Holy Bible) is an inspired word of the Holy Spirit, God has given to humankind to help us understand His plans for our lives.
NOTE:
1. The Holy Bible was not arranged
chronologically.
2. The Holy Bible was written by the literate,
illiterate, kings, fishermen, and holy people. It was written in scrolls and
stones and finally compiled by the disciples of Jesus Christ.
3. The old testament was written in the Hebrew
language whiles they wrote the New Testament in Greek and Aramaic language.
4. The accepted part of the Holy Bible is known
as the canon meaning it was authoritative, inspired by the Holy Spirit and
endorsed by the Apostles of Jesus Christ
5. The rejected part of the Holy Bible is known
as the Apocrypha because the Apostles believed it was
not inspired by the Holy Spirit and not authoritative.
6. Some recognized translators of the Holy Bible
are John Wycliffe, William Tyndale, King James of England and Miles
Coverdale.
7. The Holy Bible is supreme over every book
ever written in this world, and it contains only sixty-six books.
The Word (Holy Bible) is
divided into two sectors.
1. We have the Old Testament (contains
thirty-nine books).
2. We have the New Testament (contains
twenty-seven books).
Under
the old testament (old covenant), we have the five books of Moses.
· Genesis Exodus
Leviticus Numbers Deuteronomy
We have the historical
section.
· The
book of Joshua, Judges, Ruth, I and II Samuel, I and II Kings, I and II
Chronicles, the book of Ezra, Nehemiah, and Esther.
We have the wisdom
section.
· The
book of Psalms (some are poetry, prophecies, and songs written by
different people of which most of the chapters were written by King David).
· The
book of Proverbs and Ecclesiastes and Song of Solomon
We have the Major
Prophets
· The
book of Jeremiah, Isaiah, Lamentations, Ezekiel, and Daniel.
We have the Minor
Prophets.
· The
book of Hosea, Joel, Amos, Obadiah, Jonah, Micah, Nahum, Habakkuk, Zephaniah,
Haggai, Zechariah, and Malachi
2. Under the New Testament, we have the Four
Gospels (the gospel means the good news)
· The
gospel of Matthew (was a tax collector before he converted into
Christianity).
· The
gospel of Mark (a convert of Apostle Peter and a follower of Barnabas).
· The
gospel of Luke (a physician and a follower of Apostle Paul).
· The
gospel of John (a very close disciple of Jesus Christ who walked and
talked with Jesus Christ)
We have the acts of the Apostles (teaches how the apostles started the church in the direction of the Holy Spirit).
We have the letters of
Apostle Paul to the Church and his ministerial associates
· The
letters of Apostle Paul to the Church in Corinth (I and II Corinthians).
· The
letters of Apostle Paul to the Galatians (Church).
· The
letters of Apostle Paul to the Church in the Philippines (Philippians).
· The
letters of Apostle Paul to the church in Ephesus (Ephesians).
· The
letter of Apostle Paul to the church in Colossi (Colossians).
· The
letter of Apostle Paul to the church in Thessalonica (I and II
Thessalonians).
· The
letter of Apostle Paul to his ministerial associate Timothy (Timothy is a
gentile convert of Apostle Paul and a follower of Apostle Paul). (I and II Timothy).
· The
letter of Apostle Paul to his ministerial associate Titus (Titus is a
gentile convert of Apostle Paul and a follower of Apostle Paul).
· The
letter of Apostle Paul to his ministerial associate Philemon (Philemon is
a convert of Apostle Paul and follower of Apostle Paul).

· The
letter of James to the general church (James was a brother of Jesus
Christ and leader of a church in Jerusalem) (the book of James).
· The
letters of Apostle Peter to the general Church (I and II Peter).
· The
letter of Apostle John to the general Church (I, II, and II John).
· The
letter of Apostle Jude to the general Church (Jude is a brother of Jesus
Christ and a leader of a church) (the book of Jude).
· The
revelations of Apostle John to the general Church (Revelation).
The Purpose of God’s Word
All scripture is given by
inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for
correction, for instruction in righteousness:
That the man of God may be perfect, throughly
furnished unto all good works.

1. The Word (Holy Bible) must be the
foundation of every Church’s doctrine
2. The Word (Holy Bible) is the
acceptable manual to distinguish good and evil
3. The Word (Holy Bible) must be the foundation for every country’s constitution
4. The Word (Holy Bible) is the
acceptable manual humankind can use to correct humankind.
5. The Word (Holy Bible) is the
acceptable manual of God for humankind.
