And when the hour was come, he sat down, and the twelve apostles with him.And he said unto them, With desire I have desired to eat this passover with you before I suffer:For I say unto you, I will not any more eat thereof, until it be fulfilled in the kingdom of God.And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and said, Take this, and divide it among yourselves:For I say unto you, I will not drink of the fruit of the vine, until the kingdom of God shall come. And he took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me.

Luke 22:14-19 KJV

Grace, mercies and favour from our Saviour and Lord Jesus Christ. I hope you are swimming in the river of divine wisdom, knowledge, and understanding. Loved one in Christ Jesus, I will briefly share with you seven wisdom keys on the Holy Communion.

As believers in Christ Jesus, we must not be ignorant of the Holy Communion. Failure to discern the mysteries behind the Holy Communion will limit us in our Christian life.

Those in the kingdom of darkness have special days of celebration. Different religious bodies observe certain seasons and commune to help exalt their beliefs and faith. It is our duty as Christians to know and understand the significance of the Holy Communion and the impact it has on our lives.

Jesus Christ showed us how we can commune in the Church in the Holy Bible. In this article, I will share with you seven revelations about the Holy Communion. Any Christian (it can be a family, church, school, organization, or individual) can take holy communion every day. We can use bread, water, or non-alcoholic beverages as a communion. Below are the seven biblical revelations from the Holy Communion.

1. We take the Holy Communion to remember Jesus Christ.
Jesus took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me.

When we take the Holy Communion, it is a sign of recognition. Taking part in the Holy Communion helps us to remember Jesus Christ. Any Christian who ignores the Holy Communion is not matured spiritually. When we receive the Holy Communion, it helps us remember the existence of Jesus Christ and increases the seed of love in our spirit. Remembering Jesus Christ through the holy communion is a sign of honour and reverence to God Almighty. Every Christian must take communion to remember Jesus Christ because He is our Lord and Saviour.

2. Our spiritual senses become sensitive when we take the Holy Communion.
After the resurrection of Jesus Christ, Mary Magdalene, Joana, Mary, the mother of James and some women reported to the disciples that they saw angels who confirmed to them that Jesus Christ has risen, but the disciples did not believe.

Peter, Cleopas, and Emmaus went to the tomb of Jesus Christ and saw Jesus, but they did not recognize Jesus. Jesus Christ braked bread (Holy Communion) with His three disciples. After the holy communion, their spiritual eyes opened to enable them to recognize Jesus. These three disciples’ spiritual senses were closed because they were too logical and full of doubt. This means people who are too logical and full of doubt cannot access the spiritual realm. Such people cannot discern the activities of the Holy Spirit because their five senses limit them.

After the communion with Jesus Christ, their senses (spiritual eyes, ears, feelings, discernment, and perception) became active. This means the Holy Communion has spiritual powers to activate our spiritual senses and make us sensitive to the voice and presence of Jesus Christ (Holy Spirit).  (Read Luke 24:1-32 for more revelation)

3. The Holy Communion is a seal of the new Covenant.
And as they did eat, Jesus took bread, and blessed, and brake it, and gave to them, and said, Take, eat: this is my body.
And he took the cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them: and they all drank of it.
And he said unto them, This is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many.
Mark 14:22-24 KJV

The Holy Communion is a seal of the new covenant. God gave the laws to Moses, but grace and truth came through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We are not under the old covenant because Jesus Christ has sealed the old covenant with His blood. We have the ceremonial laws, sacrificial laws, and divine laws. We don’t sacrifice the blood of unique animals to atone for our sins.

The blood of Jesus Christ has settled it. We asked for forgiveness of sin through the blood of Jesus. Every Christian is a priest, king, and prophet because of Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit abides in every Christian because of the new covenant. When we take the Holy Communion, it validates, confirms, and enforces the seal of the new covenant of Jesus Christ. This makes us justified in the sight of the Trinity.

4. The Holy Communion is a seal of Divine Mercy.
And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed it, and brake it, and gave it to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is my body.
And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of it;
For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.
Matthew 26:26-28 KJV

When we take the Holy Communion, it makes the Heavenly Father remember the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on Mountain Calvary. When we receive the Holy Communion, the Heavenly Father remembers the suffering, mockery, and injustice Jesus Christ went through. As we take the Holy Communion, the mercies of God increases in our lives because the Heavenly Father stands upon the sacrifice of Jesus Christ and counts us as righteous.

5. The Holy Communion is a seal of Divine Protection.
God commanded the Israelites through Moses to mark their doorstep with a lamb’s blood because He decided to kill the firstborn of the Egyptians including their animals (See Exodus 12:21-28). The blood of the lamb was a symbol of Jesus Christ's blood. When we take the Holy Communion, God delivers from divine judgment and shelters us in the realms of the Spirit.

When we take the Holy Communion, the Holy Angels of God fights for us. They destroy the plans of the enemy and deliver us from evil and all forms of calamity. The Holy Communion authorize angels to defend and fight for us.

6. The Holy Communion can activate curses.
After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me.
For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord's death till he come.
Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord.

But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup.
For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord's body.
For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep.
1 Corinthians 11:25-30 KJV

The Holy Communion is sacred in the sight of the Heavenly Father. It is not an ordinary meal we can joke with because it has the power to activate the curses of God if we tamper with it. People intentionally take the Holy Communion because they want to test the Christian faith. Apostle Paul explains that people become sick, and others die before their time because they take it with wrong motives.

Others take the Holy Communion without discerning the impact on their lives. Before you take a Holy Communion, check your heart. Is there an inner peace and joy? Don’t take Holy Communion if your heart condemns you because it is not a mere meal, it is a spiritual meal!

7. The Holy Communion can activate the blessings of God.
I speak as to wise men; judge ye what I say.
The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ?
For we being many are one bread, and one body: for we are all partakers of that one bread.
1 Corinthians 10:15-17 KJV

When we take the Holy Communion with a sincere heart, it opens the gates of blessings into our lives. The Holy Communion has the inherent power to neutralize curses and convert them into blessings when we take it with faith. These blessings can deliver us from the oppression of the devil and the hopelessness of this world.

Be a partaker of the Holy Communion if you are born again (repented and accepted Jesus Christ as your Saviour and Lord of your life) because it has hidden blessings and powers that transform our spirit, soul, and body. Glory to God!
