THE TEACHINGS OF JESUS CHRIST 16 (Building the Inner Man)

 

The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light. But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness! No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

 Matthew 6:22-24 KJV.

All the glory, honour and praise be unto the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords for His unconditional love, mercies and grace. The Lord has been good unto us. Many were the attacks of the enemy, but Jehovah Nissi, Jehovah Shamar, Jehovah Eloheeka, Jehovah Jireh, Jehovah Rohi, Jehovah Adonai, Jehovah Shekinah, and Jehovah Elshadai has kept and protected us from the destruction of the enemy. Glory to God!

Child of God, you must understand that if the Lord is on your side, no spiritual forces and power can overtake and destroy you. Believe in the Word of God and the power of Jesus Christ. Greater is He that lives in us than the one in this world (See 1 John 4:4).

Jesus Christ is all that we have. Never allow worrying, fear and sin to dominate you because the God we are serving is above every forces (elemental spirit, marine spirit, familiar spirit, principalities, vicious occult groups, necromancers, sorceress, witch doctors, and evil spirits). We are seated with Jesus Christ in the heavenly places far above principalities, thrones and powers! We are more than conquerors in Jesus name! It is time you exercise faith in God's Word. This is the season to experiment with your faith. Remember, faith without action is dead. If you have faith, take a step.

When the world (unbelievers) is crying, be joyful. When all hope is lost, turn to Jesus Christ because He cares for us (See Matthew 11:28). Confess, declare and pray the promises of God recorded in the Holy Scriptures because God will always hasten to His Word. The plans of God for our lives is to bring us to an expected end (See Jeremiah 29:11). The will of God for our lives will never lead us to destruction because He is righteous in all His ways.

 Jesus Christ wants us to enjoy His blessings. When your loved ones, family, employees and enemies are forsaking God because of pressure, fear, anxiety, death, hardship, and sickness, create a fellowship with the Holy Spirit by worship and praises and Word meditation. This is the season to come closer to the Holy Spirit and fellowship with Him. It is the time to grow your faith and build your spirit with the Word. I'm sharing with you the teachings of Jesus Christ, and it is my prayer the Holy Spirit gives you the understanding and revelation behind this Word.

Jesus said, “the light of the body is the eye.” This means our eyes are gates to our spirit. For example, the door in your house is the entrance to your room. Without the key to the door, you cannot enter your room. It is the key that opens the door and grants you access to enter your room.

The same principle applies to our spirit, soul, and body. One gate to our spirit, soul, and body is our eyes. Get my book “How to Walk and Live in the Spirit” for a more profound revelation. In the book, I have listed the gates to our spirit, soul and body.

As our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ said, the light of our body is our eyes. We cannot see in the darkness without light. The sun gives us light in the day, whiles the moon gives us light in the evening. Our eyes need light rays to see hidden things.

The Word of God gives light to our spirit because the Word is a light and a lamp (See Psalm 119:105). In our body, which includes our spirit and soul, the eye is one gate that opens the door for our spirit and soul. Remember, man is a tripartite being (See 1 Thessalonians 5:23). The real you is your soul. Whatever you consistently watch and hear build a fortress of faith in your soul (See Romans 10:17). Your soul comprises your will, emotions and intellect. 

I have explained into details the concept of the soul, spirit and body in my book “How to Walk and Live in the Spirit.”  If you watch resourceful videos and read life transforming books with your eyes and hear it with your ears (it can be your spiritual eyes or ears or physical eyes or ears) the information gets to your soul.

When the soul gets the information, it processes it and sends it to your spirit. When your spirit is active to the leadership of the Holy Spirit, your spirit receives the information that glorifies God and rejects the ungodly information received from the soul. If you watch seductive videos and read immoral books, it builds a fortress of beliefs in your soul and opens the portal for demons to create lies in your heart (Meditate on 2 Corinthians 10:3-5).

This is one reason some people are hardened in their sins because they consistently feed their soul with evil information. When a group of people or an individual keep receiving lousy information through the eyes, it shapes the character, temperament and personality.

To build your spirit and soul, you must feed on inspired materials because whatever you set your eyes on, open a door for your spirit and soul. If that information is ungodly, it builds ungodly virtues in your heart (See Galatians 5:19-21).

If the information is godly, it builds the fruit (See Galatians 5:22-23) of the Holy Spirit in your heart. This is one reason Apostle Paul wrote to the church in Rome that they should not conform to the evil pattern of the world but renew their mind with the Word of God (See Romans 12:1-2).

The devil can corrupt your mind and make you accept evil as good and useful by the information you allow into your soul. For example, some countries and people see gay, lesbianism, abortion, sexual immorality and other prime evil as human rights. They believe it is good; therefore, the government should legalize it. I reject such human rights in Jesus name!

Countries and governments that accept those abominable acts must repent and receive the salvation of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Leaders that allow ungodly acts have fed their mind with wicked information, and this information has created a fountain of faith in their soul and spirit. The devil is behind this plan, and it is our responsibility as Christians to intercede for leadership and preach against such acts (See 1 Timothy 2:1-5).

There are some people, too; they love to fellowship with the Holy Spirit because of the information they feed on. It is what we feed on that controls our desires, actions and choice. If you keep watching pornographic and ungodly videos, it makes you wicked in your thoughts because those videos have opened the evil door for evil spirits to manipulate and possess you.

You cannot plant an orange seed and expect an apple. You reap what you sow (See Galatians 6:7). Whatever you allow in your life controls you. Whoever you open your heart unto, controls you. We can see what is inside you by your close friends and what you do secretly and openly. Some people cannot control their desires because of what they feed on.

If you want to build a healthy Christian life, you must feed on essential materials. Whoever you open your ear to, controls you. Whatever you continue to watch becomes a part of you. If you observe a particular video continuously, a time will come when you want to practice what you watch.

Some people watched football matches from their childhood, so they desire to become footballers. Such people love to debate on football because that is what they have opened their spirit and soul to.

Anytime you keep watching something, you develop a passion for pursuing it because those materials have entered you unknowingly. Some people need deliverance from evil spirits and the liberation of the soul (acquisition of knowledge). Believers and unbelievers operate differently. Our way of life differs from unbelievers. The unbelievers will never believe until they see.

They walk only by their five senses. Believers operate beyond the five senses. If all that you feed on is ungodly, you will always behave in the wrong way. If you always feed on inspired materials (such as the Holy Bible, Christian books, Christian movies, self-help books, and songs) and obey them, God will direct your path.

Focus on God’s assignment because you cannot serve two masters. It is good to learn from God’s vessels that are called, chosen, anointed, knowledgeable and experienced. Connect with a spiritual leader to enable him or her shape you in the ways of God.
