The Adventures on the road to the Celestial City (12)
Loved one in Christ Jesus, I believe you are growing in the strength of the Lord. I thank God for your life. It’s a great pleasure connecting with my Christian blog. I believe the Holy Spirit directed you to my blog to enable you to connect with the wisdom of God.
It
is my prayer, the Lord of Lords and King of Kings (Jesus Christ) protect you
from every impending danger and uplift you to a higher dimension in the Lord. This
is lesson twelve on my teachings, the adventures on the road to the kingdom of
Heaven. Kindly read the foundational lessons for a more profound revelation.
In
the previous lesson, I reminded you of the prophecies our Saviour and
Lord Jesus Christ gave to His disciples (includes every Christian believer). No man or a woman can change these decreed prophecies because God has predestined it in His
sanctuary.
As
we wait for our Savior and Lord Jesus Christ, let us be watchful and prayerful
because the adversary is using the system of this world to propagate grave evil
in these last days (Meditate on 1 Peter 5:8-9 and 2 Timothy 3:1-5).
The enemy is advancing evil acts in a deceptive and upgraded way. Many people are using sex toys to masturbate, and it is activating the anger of God. The intense evil in the twenty-first century is bringing the wrath of God upon countries, families, organizations, and cities.
- We must be sober and vigilant because the invisible powers are using human vessels (leaders and influential people), the media, technology, internet, sexual immorality, and other hidden weapons to destroy God’s kingdom on earth.
- We must be prayerful and put on the whole armour God in this season because Jesus can appear at any moment from now.
- We must intercede for ministers of God in the vineyard and various leadership because they need prayers (Meditate on 1 Timothy 2:1-4).
- We need your prayers because the attacks that are coming on God’s servants are disastrous.
The
adversary is using false ministers to deceive (deceptive doctrines) many people. If all Christians fast
and pray, study the living Word, and rightly divide the Word of truth, the human
agents of Satan will never lure innocent souls into the dark kingdom.
I
gave out this introduction because I don’t want you to become a victim of the
devil. Let’s get to today’s lesson. In this episode, I will use the adventures Job
went through as a pathway to enlighten your Christian path.
There was a man in the land
of Uz, whose name was Job; and that man was perfect and upright, and one
that feared God, and eschewed evil.
And there were born unto him
seven sons and three daughters.
His substance also was seven
thousand sheep, and three thousand camels, and five hundred yoke of oxen, and
five hundred she asses, and a very great household; so that this man was the
greatest of all the men of the east.
And his sons went and feasted
in their houses, every one his day; and sent and called for their three
sisters to eat and to drink with them.
And it was so, when the days
of their feasting were gone about, that Job sent and sanctified them,
and rose up early in the morning, and offered burnt offerings according
to the number of them all: for Job said, It may be that my sons have sinned,
and cursed God in their hearts. Thus did Job continually.
Now there was a day when the
sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also
among them.
And the LORD said unto Satan,
Whence comest thou? Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, From going to and
fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it.
And the LORD said unto Satan,
Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the
earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil?
Then Satan answered the LORD,
and said, Doth Job fear God for nought?
Hast not thou made an hedge
about him, and about his house, and about all that he hath on every side? thou
hast blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land.
But put forth thine hand now,
and touch all that he hath, and he will curse thee to thy face.
And the LORD said unto Satan,
Behold, all that he hath is in thy power; only upon himself put not
forth thine hand. So Satan went forth from the presence of the LORD.
And there was a day when his
sons and his daughters were eating and drinking wine in their eldest
brother's house:
And there came a messenger
unto Job, and said, The oxen were plowing, and the asses feeding beside them:
And the Sabeans fell upon
them, and took them away; yea, they have slain the servants with the edge
of the sword; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee.
While he was yet
speaking, there came also another, and said, The fire of God is fallen from
heaven, and hath burned up the sheep, and the servants, and consumed them; and
I only am escaped alone to tell thee.
While he was yet
speaking, there came also another, and said, The Chaldeans made out three
bands, and fell upon the camels, and have carried them away, yea, and slain the
servants with the edge of the sword; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee.
While he was yet
speaking, there came also another, and said, Thy sons and thy daughters were
eating and drinking wine in their eldest brother's house:
And, behold, there came a
great wind from the wilderness, and smote the four corners of the house, and it
fell upon the young men, and they are dead; and I only am escaped alone to tell
thee.
Job
1:1-19 KJV
The
Holy Scriptures declares that there was a man called Job who lived in Uz (a
region near Arabia). Some Bible scholars believe that the book of Job is the
oldest in the Holy Bible. Job was an upright man who reverenced God. He
performed his religious duty daily. Most of the people living in his
jurisdiction envied him because of his wealth.
In verse six of Job chapter one, the holy scriptures declare that a time
came when the sons of God came to present themselves unto God. Some Bible
scholars believe these spiritual forces are the fallen angels.
This
should let us understand that God created Satan (formally Lucifer) because Satan was among the
sons of God (fallen angels). Note that Satan chose evil out of his will. When
Satan appeared before God, God questioned him about the life of Job.
We
must understand that God observes our lives because He testified of Job’s devotion.
When Satan heard God’s testimony about Job, Satan became jealous and placed a
challenge to God.
The
devil (Satan) said if He (God) allows him to fight Job, Job will forsake Him. The devil
also challenged God that He (God) has protected Job with an invisible hedge
(fire and archangels of war) and it was because of Job’s abundance that makes Job reverence Him (God).
When
God heard the challenge of Satan, He permitted the devil to attack Job. Satan
could only fight Job in God's terms and conditions. We must understand
that the devil will not fight us until God gives him authority.
There
are times, too; the devil gets access to people's lives when they become slaves to sin.
The devil can also fight someone when there is an open door (Get my series of books for a more profound revelation on the enemy, these books will help
you understand the systems of the enemy).
There
are seasons in our lives; God can allow the devil to tempt us because He trusts
we can overcome. God will never allow the devil to fight us beyond our
strength. Meditate on this holy scripture for a more profound revelation.
There hath no temptation
taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will
not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the
temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
1 Corinthians
10:13 KJV
God
knows our spiritual strength (faith in His Word), soulish strength, and physical
strength. Sometimes God searches our hearts with trials (Meditate on Genesis 22:1-12).
Never think God will allow the devil and his minions to attack you beyond your
strength because God is righteous in all His ways (Meditate on Psalm 50:6;
145:17).
Job
lost all his wealth, children, and all that he possessed because of his love for God.
It even came to time; his wife advised him to curse God and die. We must be
careful when we fall into hardship because sometimes it's God's plan to test our faith.
I
know a man of God in Ghana who lost all his children in a car accident. It is said that this
anointed minister of God had a church meeting the very day the incident
happened. I thought the man of God would cancel the church meeting because
of his dead children.
The
man of God did not cancel the church meeting. It is said that this anointed man
of God preached powerfully at the church meeting despite the news of his dead
children. Can you stand the storm when you hear that all your children you have trained for the past twenty years have died in a car accident? Can you stand the
storm when your loved ones depart from this earth?
We
must understand that the ways of God can be mysterious (Meditate on Isaiah
55:6-9). I know some things come our way because of our negligence. Meditate
on Matthew 26:41 and James chapter one, verses thirteen and fourteen.
Let no man say when he is
tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither
tempteth he any man:
But every man is tempted,
when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.
James 1:13-14 KJV
Any
challenge or problem that makes you hate or reject God and the church with a
passion is not from God. Any challenge or problem that comes your way and makes
your faith strong in God and His Word is from Jesus Christ (Read my previous lessons for more wisdom keys).
In the case of Job, he lost all his children and wealth. His wife, who should have
encouraged him instead gave him terrible advice. Child of God, be careful with
the advice your wife, husband, and friends propose to you when you enter the season of
the test.
What
would have happened to Job if he agreed with the advice of his wife? Probably, Job
would have cursed God and commit suicide. Choose a wife or a husband that reverence and loves God. A faithful man that fears God and a virtuous woman that loves
God will love and reverence you despite the circumstance.
Don’t
choose an unbeliever as a life partner because the unbelievers only walk and
live by their five senses. They don’t have faith in God’s Word (Meditate on 2 Corinthians 5:7). In times of
trials, the unbeliever and the carnal Christian can discourage and make you backslide (Meditate on 2
Corinthians 6:14-18). Look at how Job responded when the devil attacked him.
Then Job arose, and rent his
mantle, and shaved his head, and fell down upon the ground, and worshipped,
And said, Naked came I out of
my mother's womb, and naked shall I return thither: the LORD gave, and the LORD
hath taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD.
In all this Job sinned not,
nor charged God foolishly.
Job
1:20-22 KJV
Job
gave thanks to God. He did not complain. Child of God, I know sometimes, when
we face problems or challenges in our lives, we begin to complain. That is not
how we should react when trials and temptations come our way.
Imitate
the faith of Job.
- Job gave thanks to God.
- Job realized he came to this world empty which meant he owned nothing.
- Job did not allow temporal things to destroy his faith in God.
- Job did not allow the death of his children to destroy his faith because he knew his children were gifts from God.
When
you fall into situations that stretch your faith, confess this holy scriptures and walk in your confession as led by the Holy Spirit.
…we
know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who
are the called according to his purpose.
Romans 8:28 KJV
Have
faith in God and His Word. (Get my book, How to Unlock the Gates of Faith
or read my article, how to stand the storms of life for more wisdom
keys). As far as we live in this corrupt world, we may encounter unfavourable
situations. These challenges are temporal. God knows how to deliver us when we
call on Him in prayers.
God has given us His Word. There are a lot of promises recorded in the living Word, so don’t give up! The devil can issue an arrow of fear, discouragement, confusion, and hopelessness in your life. Don’t allow these arrows to break you.
Believe
the Word of God in all circumstances because God is not a man that He should
lie (Meditate on Numbers 23:19, Psalm 89:35, Luke 21:33, Titus 1:2).
Can
you believe God restored all that the devil destroyed in Job’s life? God gave
Job a double portion when he stood firm in his faith despite the persecution of
his friends. God rewarded Job when he interceded for his friends.
Never give up because God is working out for your good. You may think God has forgotten or ignored you. The silence of God does not mean He has rejected you. Stop complaining, keep praying, worship, and praise God with an understanding heart, and God will turn the evil and your mistakes into miracles. Confess and declare the promises of God because it is working for your good! Glory to God!
