The 10 Categories of Christian believers

Christianity plays a significant role in national development because true churches trains and produce responsible leaders. Without Christianity, the world will be full of immorality and evil activities.

Although some Christian believers act contrary to the principles of the Word (Holy Bible), we cannot paint all denominations within the body of Christ Jesus as corrupt. Some people claim to be Christian believers, yet they reject the teachings of Christ Jesus and leadership of the Holy Spirit.

Rejecting the teachings of Christ Jesus and claiming to be a Christian believer is an error. A Christian believer follows the teachings of Christ Jesus. A real Christian believer submits to the leadership of the Holy Spirit.

Unlike the unbelievers who only walk and live by their emotions and ignore the leadership of the Holy Spirit, Christian believers have the nature of Christ Jesus. Many people claim to be Christian believers, but their character, attitude, and actions disqualify them.

That is, some Christian believer's personalities contradict the personality of Christ Jesus. A true disciple follows the leadership of his master. As a matter of fact, we must walk in the footsteps of our Saviour and Lord Christ Jesus.

As I thought through these things, I came out with these categories of believers in the body of Christ Jesus. In my previous articles, I revealed numerous types of Christian believers. Check them out for more profound revelations.

Leaving the leadership of the world to the unbelievers puts the innocent and vulnerable people in great danger because most of the unbelievers are controlled by strange spiritual forces and by their sinful nature (Meditate on Ephesians 4:17-18, 2 Corinthians 4:3-4).

In some organizations, we find several people in prominent positions claiming to be Christian believers, but their dealings do not match with the Word and personality of Christ Jesus. If you have read my previous articles, you will understand that we have different types of Christians in the body of Christ.

Someone claiming to be a Christian believer does not mean he is qualified to occupy a vital position in an organization or church. We must check the maturity of the person. We must analyze his spiritual maturity, intellectual maturity, psychological maturity, emotional maturity, moral maturity, social maturity, and biblical qualifications before giving that vessel a leadership position.

I know some people who are not Christian believers, yet they are disciplined and morally upright in their field of leadership. Although the family, neighborhood, schools, media, and technology play an important role in shaping people's character, the church plays the ultimate role.

Aside from we (the church) training people to become responsible in life, we shape their life permanently with the undiluted Word. Inside the Word, rest the best and unchangeable wisdom. The Word contains the wisdom of the Almighty God.

Imagine yourself carrying the wisdom of the Almighty God in your hands and on your electronic device. We (Christian believers) have a great advantage over the unbelievers because we carry the wisdom of God in us (Meditate on Jeremiah 31:33-34).

The wisdom of God lives in our inner man. These unlimited and unsearchable wisdom rest in the deepest part of our hearts. This wisdom is called the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit supplies life, knowledge, grace, power, and wisdom.

Without the Holy Spirit, we cannot do anything in life. A Christian believer who ignores the influence of the Holy Spirit creates great havoc in his life because he has ignored the essential light needed to brighten the darkness on his path.

Do not be confused or offended when you encounter people claiming to be Christian believers. I encourage you to read my previous articles for more profound revelations. In this article, I will list and explain ten types of Christian believers we have in our churches.

When I was a baby Christian believer, I expected the brethren to behave rightly. I expected Christian believers to be friendly and lovely people who cared about others. I believed with my heart that all gospel ministers were good people, but as I grew in the Lord, I realized that my perceptions were wrong.

The fact that someone calls himself (including females) a Christian believer or gospel minister does not mean he is full of divine love. When I started a church with some tertiary students at Koforidua Technical University, I thought my helpers (church leaders) were interested in the work of God.

As I grew a little in the ministry, I realized that most of my ministerial helpers were pretenders and wolves in sheep clothing. Some of the tertiary students helping me build the church did not love God.

Deep within, most of them had fears, wickedness, and doubts in the Lord. Today, that church is no more. The church is no more working because I did not receive a confirmation from the Holy Spirit before starting.

The Holy Spirit also revealed some visions about some people who helped me start the church on campus. In the vision, I saw that some of the Christian believers I trusted to help me build the church were the ones scattering the members.

I have learned from some of my experiences starting a church in a tertiary institution. I also learn from the books and teachings of successful gospel ministers. Get in touch with me as I share ten types of Christian believers in the churches.

1. Fictional Christian believers

For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;

And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

2 Timothy 4:3-4 KJV

In his letters to Timothy, Apostle Paul described a time will come when some Christian believers will hate the true gospel. As we can see in our modern-day churches, we have Christian believers who only love to hear what pleases them.

These Christian believers have no time for the real gospel. They cannot face the truth because of their lustful desires. These vessels love to hear what pleases them than to hear from the Holy Spirit.

One identifying mark of these Christian believers is that they hate true gospel ministers. These Christian believers love to hang around false gospel ministers. They cannot stand repentance and holiness messages.

All they want is prosperity and nothing else. These Christian believers love to be encouraged in their evil deeds. They love to hear stories than to listen to the Word of God. You will often find these Christian believers following preachers who don't teach from the Word of God.

If you study the words of Apostle Paul carefully about these Christian believers, you will find these marks on their spiritual garment.

  • These Christian believers do not endure sound doctrine or teachings.
  • These Christian believers lust after the corrupt desires of the flesh, eyes, and soul.
  • These Christian believers excessively fall in love with preachers who don't teach the truth.
  • These Christian believers are highly desirous to hear pleasant words.
  • These Christian believers reject the truth with all their hearts.
  • These Christian believers are childlike in the faith; they love to remain in their novice and carnal stage of their spiritual life.

Repent if you are in this category.

2. Noble Christian believers

These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.

Acts 17:11 KJV

Read from the first chapter of the above Holy Scriptures. You will understand that Apostle Paul, Silas, and some disciples of Christ Jesus entered Thessalonica to preach the gospel. In the process of evangelism, the unconverted Jews rose against the teachings of Apostle Paul and some of Christ Jesus’ disciples.

The Christian believers in Thessalonica protected Apostle Paul and other missionaries by sending them to Berea, a city of Macedonia. In the Holy Scriptures, Luke records that the Christian believers in Berea were of high dignity and value.

This is not a new set of Christian believers. We can find these Christian believers in our modern-day churches. These Christians accept the Word of Truth with all their heart. These Christian believers are royals in the kingdom.

You will hardly find these Christian believers yoking with the world and carnal brethren (Meditate on 2 Corinthians 6:14-18). These Christian believers do their due diligence after hearing the Word.

That is, they search the scriptures to confirm every Word preached and taught by a gospel minister. They are not like the carnal and fictional Christian believers who accept every gospel without confirming it from the living Word.

Noble Christian believers constantly attend bible studies in big and small groups because they hunger for the Word. Noble Christian believers do not walk with anybody just like that. They are careful when choosing friends because they don't want to create an ungodly soul tie that will lead to spiritual defilement.

One weak point of these Christian believers is that they sometimes become self-righteous. I encourage you to continue in the nobility of the Holy Spirit. However, do not carry the banner of self-righteousness on your spiritual garment.

3. Wolverine Christian believers

For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock.

Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them.

Acts 20:29-30 KJV

Apostle Paul addressed the church in Ephesus that his absence will empower some Christian believers with an abnormal and animal mentality to break into the church. This is not a new thing in our churches.

We have some Christian believers who think and act like wolves. Most often, they are not born again. These Christian believers attack innocent brethren and sow tares among the flock (church members).

They gossip, slander, insult, and persecute Christian believers in the church. One reason these "Christians" act in this way is to cause a division in the church. Most often, they are used by evil spirits to destroy the church.

One of the identifying marks of these "Christians" is that they do not show real love in the church. They express hatred, resentment, fights, and confusion in the church and neighborhood. Their main weapon is their evil words.

These Christian believers create groups within the church to oppose the leadership. They are rebels. Outwardly they look like sheep. Deep within them are vampires, wolves, and attackers. They have no mercy for the weak.

These Christian believers attack the church without mercy. They drive people to themselves and make them vulnerable to the enemy's attacks. In other words, these Christian believers act like unbelievers.

Failure to deal with them in wisdom can lead to a church breakup. If you are not strong in the spiritual realm, they can hunt you down. If you are a leader in the church, earnestly pray for the church and teach the Word to expose these wolverines. Those supposed to work with you in the church will repent. Repent if you belong to this group!

4. Lovely Christian believers

Unto the angel of the church of Ephesus write; These things saith he that holdeth the seven stars in his right hand, who walketh in the midst of the seven golden candlesticks;

I know thy works, and thy labour, and thy patience, and how thou canst not bear them which are evil: and thou hast tried them which say they are apostles, and are not, and hast found them liars:

And hast borne, and hast patience, and for my name's sake hast laboured, and hast not fainted.

Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love.

Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.

But this thou hast, that thou hatest the deeds of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate.

He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.

Revelations 2:1-7 KJV

In his vision, Apostle John received several revelations from our Saviour and Lord Christ Jesus while exiled in Patmos. In his encounter, Christ Jesus revealed divine messages about some churches.

These churches apply to our modern-day believers. If you study the revelations carefully, you will understand that these Christian believers are hardworking. They work with all their hearts to build and expand the kingdom of God on earth.

These Christian believers have mastered the seed of patience. They cannot stand wicked people, especially the unbelievers. These Christian believers do not tolerate the evil deeds of others wherever they find themselves.

They can easily detect false gospel ministers and pretentious Christian believers. These Christians do not tolerate sexual immorality in their church because of their absolute desire for righteousness, holiness, purity, sanctification, and good works.

One weakness of these Christian believers is that they fail to walk in divine love. These Christian believers hardly express divine love within the church and neighborhood because of their extreme religious activities.

If you belong to this group, Christ Jesus is commanding you to repent. Express the love of Christ because real Christianity exceeds good works. Express love of Christ Jesus to your neighbors, brethren, family, friends, coworkers, and ignorant enemies if you belong to this group.

5. Enduring Christian believers

And unto the angel of the church in Smyrna write; These things saith the first and the last, which was dead, and is alive;

I know thy works, and tribulation, and poverty, (but thou art rich) and I know the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews, and are not, but are the synagogue of Satan.

Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life.

He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; He that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second death.

Revelations 2:8-11 KJV

These Christian believers engage in the kingdom's work. They face a series of pressure, distress, and afflictions because of their faith. The unbelievers and some brethren often categorize these Christian believers as poor, not knowing that they are spiritually prosperous.

These Christian believers are unjustly judged by ungodly authorities and sent to prisons for their faith. If you belong to this group, Christ Jesus is encouraging you to stay strong in the faith because you have a crown of life in the Celestial City. You will escape the lake of fire if you endure to the end.

6. Unshaped Christian believers

And to the angel of the church in Pergamos write; These things saith he which hath the sharp sword with two edges;

I know thy works, and where thou dwellest, even where Satan's seat is: and thou holdest fast my name, and hast not denied my faith, even in those days wherein Antipas was my faithful martyr, who was slain among you, where Satan dwelleth.

But I have a few things against thee, because thou hast there them that hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balac to cast a stumblingblock before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed unto idols, and to commit fornication.

So hast thou also them that hold the doctrine of the Nicolaitans, which thing I hate.

Repent; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will fight against them with the sword of my mouth.

He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it.

Revelations 2:12-17 KJV

These Christian believers also produce good works in the church. Unluckily for these Christian believers, they build their churches in hostile places. These Christian believers suffer from the attacks of unbelievers, ungodly authorities, and evil spirits because of their location.

These Christian believers suffer from the hands of wicked people because the neighborhood hates their growth and spiritual activities. One key that opens the door for the enemy to attack these Christians is their attachment to idol practices and contaminated foods within the hostile environment.

These Christian believers love to dishonor their bodies through ungodly sexual intercourse because their spiritual and physical atmosphere is contaminated. If you belong to this group, Christ Jesus is commanding you to repent.

7. Untamed Christian believers

And unto the angel of the church in Thyatira write; These things saith the Son of God, who hath his eyes like unto a flame of fire, and his feet are like fine brass;

I know thy works, and charity, and service, and faith, and thy patience, and thy works; and the last to be more than the first.

Notwithstanding I have a few things against thee, because thou sufferest that woman Jezebel, which calleth herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce my servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed unto idols.

And I gave her space to repent of her fornication; and she repented not.

Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds.

And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he which searcheth the reins and hearts: and I will give unto every one of you according to your works.

But unto you I say, and unto the rest in Thyatira, as many as have not this doctrine, and which have not known the depths of Satan, as they speak; I will put upon you none other burden.

But that which ye have already hold fast till I come.

And he that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations:

And he shall rule them with a rod of iron; as the vessels of a potter shall they be broken to shivers: even as I received of my Father.

And I will give him the morning star.

He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.

Revelation 2:18-29 KJV

These Christian believers are servant-like in their works. They expressed true love in the church. They are full faith because they operate more in the gifts of the Holy Spirit. One weakness of these Christian believers is that they allow unbelievers and people controlled by lustful spirits to lead the church.

As a result of this erroneous habit, sexual immorality reigns in the church. Christian believers in this group also eat contaminated foods offered to demigods and evil spirits. These Christian believers eat food prepared by evil vessels, negatively affecting their spiritual growth. Christ Jesus is calling you to repent if you belong to this group.

8. Unwatchful Christian believers

And unto the angel of the church in Sardis write; These things saith he that hath the seven Spirits of God, and the seven stars; I know thy works, that thou hast a name that thou livest, and art dead.

Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die: for I have not found thy works perfect before God.

Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee.

Thou hast a few names even in Sardis which have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with me in white: for they are worthy.

He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.

He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.

Revelation 3:1-6 KJV

These Christian believers have a record of works, yet their works are unsatisfactory in the sight of Christ Jesus. This means these Christian believers do not engage in the kingdom work from their hearts.

They murmur and do the work of God to please themselves, not to please Christ Jesus. These Christian believers engage in spiritual activities because of recognition and temporal rewards. They evangelize because they see it as fun and advertisement.

These Christian believers intercede because they want to be seen by others. They want people to know that they are also prayerful. These Christian believers are not sensitive to the Holy Spirit because of weak faith.

These Christians are not prepared for the second coming of Christ Jesus because they are not conscious of heaven. Repent if you belong to this group.

9. Consistent Christian believers

And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write; These things saith he that is holy, he that is true, he that hath the key of David, he that openeth, and no man shutteth; and shutteth, and no man openeth;

I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name.

Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee.

Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.

Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown.

Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name.

He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.

Revelation 3:7-13 KJV

These Christian believers have little spiritual strength because they do not invest much time building their Christian lives. However, these Christians keep the little Word they have in their hearts.

These Christian believers do their best to follow the principles of the Word in their endeavors of life. They engage in evangelism, prayer, and other spiritual activities. However, they are not fully connected to it because some world activities limit them.

One special identifying mark of these Christian believers is that they carry a precious heart and desire true love. These Christian believers do not easily give up on Christ Jesus, yet they look weak in the faith. Build a consistent relationship and fellowship with the Holy Spirit if you belong to this group.

10. Indecisive Christian believers

And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God;

I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.

So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.

Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:

I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.

As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.

Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.

To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.

He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.

Revelation 3:14-22 KJV

These Christian believers fully engage in church activities and worldly activities. When it comes to the things of God, you will see these Christians happily participating. Yet, you will see these Christians promoting ungodly programs!

Most often, these Christian believers brag about their possession. They love to make themselves known for their spirituality and advancement in life to the world. One humiliating scar about these Christian believers is that they are prisoners in the spiritual realm.

They are like slaves in the spiritual realm. Christ Jesus is calling Christian believers in this category to repent because His gate of love and mercy are opened for reconciliation. Take action to receive deliverance if you belong to this group.
