No one can deny this
truth; we’ve been angry in some seasons of life. Anger is part of human nature
because God also becomes angry. God created us in His image and likeness;
therefore, we can also become angry if God exhibits anger.
However, we have levels
and types of anger. The fact that we can be angry does not mean we should use
our anger to do evil things. Apostle Paul wrote to the church in Ephesus
(including every Christian believer) that they should not allow their anger to
dominate them.
Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down
upon your wrath:
Ephesians
4:26 KJV
This means we should not allow
our anger to lead us into sinful activities. Even Christ Jesus stated that our
anger must be reasonable.
…I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his
brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment…
Matthew
5:22 KJV
This means we must have a
tangible and reasonable cause for our anger. You cannot be angry because you
feel it. You cannot be angry at others because of your status in life. Becoming
angry with no reasonable cause is a mental illness or demonic manipulation.
Your anger must be
justifiable in the sight of God and godly men; however, you don’t have the
right to sin in the anger season. The reason you must not sin during your anger
mood is that sin violates the laws of God.
Sin is an enemy of God. God can choose to destroy and kill
his creation because he brought them into being (meditate on Genesis 1, Hebrews
11:1-3, Revelation 4:11). You cannot kill or destroy another human being
because you didn’t create the person.
For example, the Chief
Executive Officer of a business can decide to close down his business because
he set it up. The manager and other officers have no right to destroy the
business of the Chief Executive Officer because they did not create it.
Secondly, the Chief
Executive Officer has the lion's share in the business. I learned that Elon
Musk bought Twitter (social media company). Elon Musk can close down, expand
the business, or do anything to Twitter incorporated because he owns it.
In the same way, God can
destroy and recreate the world because he owns it. We cannot kill any human
being because we didn’t create them. However, we can use the legal laws in the
country to deal with people who act against the constitution.
So, what is my point here?
The fact that we can be angry does not mean we have the right to do anything. Even
God does not engage in evil in his anger state. The Holy Spirit will not permit
God to do evil. Whatever God does is good because He is righteous. In the Holy
Scriptures, Christ Jesus used his anger to bring law and order to the church.
And Jesus went into the temple of God, and cast out all them that sold
and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and
the seats of them that sold doves,
And said unto them, It is written, My house shall be called the
house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves.
Matthew
21:12-14 KJV
At the time of Christ
Jesus' ministry on earth, the religious people used the church to transact ungodly
business. When Christ Jesus saw the disorderliness of the religious people and
unbelievers within the church, he disorganized the place.
If you analyze the
motives of Christ Jesus, you will realize that his anger was holy. His anger
was to bring glory to God and the church. After scattering the place, Christ
Jesus healed the blind and the sick.
This should alert us that
Christ Jesus’ anger left immediately after scattering the place. In the time of
Noah, God destroyed the wicked people. God used his anger to bring sanity to
the world. God destroyed the land and evil people in Sodom and Gomorrah in his
anger state. Nehemiah channeled his anger positively.
And there was a great cry of the people and of their wives against
their brethren the Jews.
For there were that said, We, our sons, and our daughters, are
many: therefore we take up corn for them, that we may eat, and live.
Some also there were that said, We have mortgaged our lands, vineyards, and
houses, that we might buy corn, because of the dearth.
There were also that said, We have borrowed money for the king's
tribute, and that upon our lands and vineyards.
Yet now our flesh is as the flesh of our brethren, our children
as their children: and, lo, we bring into bondage our sons and our daughters to
be servants, and some of our daughters are brought unto bondage already:
neither is it in our power to redeem them; for other men have our
lands and vineyards.
And I was very angry when I heard their cry and these words.
Then I consulted with myself, and I rebuked the nobles, and the rulers,
and said unto them, Ye exact usury, every one of his brother. And I set a great
assembly against them.
And I said unto them, We after our ability have redeemed our brethren
the Jews, which were sold unto the heathen; and will ye even sell your
brethren? or shall they be sold unto us? Then held they their peace, and found
nothing to answer.
Also I said, It is not good that ye do: ought ye not to walk in
the fear of our God because of the reproach of the heathen our enemies?
I likewise, and my brethren, and my servants, might exact of
them money and corn: I pray you, let us leave off this usury.
Restore, I pray you, to them, even this day, their lands, their
vineyards, their oliveyards, and their houses, also the hundredth part
of the money, and of the corn, the wine, and the oil, that ye exact of them.
Then said they, We will restore them, and will require nothing
of them; so will we do as thou sayest. Then I called the priests, and took an
oath of them, that they should do according to this promise.
Nehemiah 5:1-12 KJV
If you read verse six of
the above Holy Scriptures, you will realize that Nehemiah became angry at the
cry and oppression of the Jews. Nehemiah used his anger to solve the problem of
his people.
That is how we must channel
our anger. We must use our anger to solve problems and help the vulnerable.
Using your anger to destroy the innocent is a sign of immaturity and
wickedness. Do you know that God uses his anger to eliminate injustice?
For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness
and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;
Romans 1:18 KJV
Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication,
uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which
is idolatry:
For which things' sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of
disobedience:
Colossians 3:5-6 KJV
God’s wrath destroys
wickedness. Anytime God becomes angry, know that it is because of sin and
wickedness. God becomes angry at sin and wicked activities because sin does not
live in Him.
God judgeth the righteous, and God is angry with the wicked
every day.
Psalms
7:11 KJV
Do you get the whole
picture? God is angry with the wicked every day, which means He hates wicked
people. God desires that evil people repent. Even the death of the wicked is
unpleasant in the eyes and heart of God (see Ezekiel 33:11).
If God is angry with the
wicked people and sinful activities and He created us in His image and
likeness, we can also become angry with sin and wicked people. Anyone that
loves wickedness and promotes wicked people is evil.
If God is angry with the
wicked, why should we be happy with the wicked? We can be angry with wicked
people, but we shouldn’t hate them as a person. We should hate the wickedness
and strategize ways to help them escape the prison of wickedness.
In my latest book, The Mysteries of Evil Seeds,
I have explained the top reasons why people become wicked and how we can help
them. Anger is a strong force in the soul of man. Anger is like a diesel; it
blazes when fire touches it.
Anger is a strong
emotional force that allows people to do impossible and unimaginable things. As
some people use the force of love to do great things, people use the force of
anger also to do great things.
It is how you channel
your anger that makes it good or evil. Some people have harbored anger in their
souls to the extent that bitterness has gotten access into their lives. One
thing you must know about bitterness is that it generates strange diseases.
A sound heart is the life of the flesh: but envy the rottenness
of the bones.
Proverbs
14:30 KJV
King Solomon used the
word envy, but the best word should have been bitterness. Although bitterness
is the nephew of envy, we must be careful how we harbor anger (envy) in our
hearts and minds. In my book, the mysteries of Jealousy,
I have enumerated some wisdom keys and profound revelations on this topic.
Bitterness rots the body.
It can lead to psychotic diseases (mental illness). Uncontrolled anger has led
many people into dark prisons and unpleasant places. Some people have allowed
their anger to dominate them, leading to human murder and grave evils.
Today, these angry people
are suffering in hell. If you don’t want to end in such places, learn how to
control your anger. Uncontrolled anger has led many people to marriage separation,
divorce, suicide,
and destruction of the family.
Uncontrolled anger can
open the portal for demons to oppress you, suppress you, depress you, possess
you, and manipulate you. This is one reason people kill others in the season of
anger. Who taught Cain how to kill? Cain allowed his anger to generate evil
thoughts, opening doors for external and invisible forces to control him (see
Genesis 4:1-8). King Solomon states that anger rest in the heart of fools.
Be not hasty in thy spirit to be angry: for anger resteth in the bosom
of fools.
Ecclesiastes 7:9 KJV
You
get the key point here, do not be in a rush to exhibit anger because people who
quickly become angry act foolishly. The anger King Solomon described in the
context of the above holy scriptures is toxic, violent, and uncontrolled anger.
Some
people daily preserve anger in their hearts and mind because of a past event.
Preserving anger in your heart and mind is stupidity, madness, and immaturity,
as stated by King Solomon (see Ecclesiastes 7:9). The person you are angry with
is happily moving on with his life, and you are suffering. Are you okay?
A fool's wrath is presently known: but a prudent man covereth
shame.
Proverbs 12:16 KJV
Can
I ask, are you a fool? If you are not a fool, eliminate that toxic anger and
bitterness from your heart because you are killing yourself softly. Balaam
acted in anger without realizing that his donkey was saving him from premature death. He temporarily swore to kill his donkey because his donkey didn’t
want to move. The donkey saw the angel of God, so it strategized a way to save
his master (Balaam).
And God's anger was kindled because he went: and the angel of the LORD
stood in the way for an adversary against him. Now he was riding upon his ass,
and his two servants were with him.
And the ass saw the angel of the LORD standing in the way, and his sword
drawn in his hand: and the ass turned aside out of the way, and went into the
field: and Balaam smote the ass, to turn her into the way.
But the angel of the LORD stood in a path of the vineyards, a wall being
on this side, and a wall on that side.
And when the ass saw the angel of the LORD, she thrust herself unto the
wall, and crushed Balaam's foot against the wall: and he smote her again.
And the angel of the LORD went further, and stood in a narrow place,
where was no way to turn either to the right hand or to the left.
And when the ass saw the angel of the LORD, she fell down under Balaam:
and Balaam's anger was kindled, and he smote the ass with a staff.
And the LORD opened the mouth of the ass, and she said unto Balaam,
What have I done unto thee, that thou hast smitten me these three times?
And Balaam said unto the ass, Because thou hast mocked me: I would
there were a sword in mine hand, for now would I kill thee.
And the ass said unto Balaam, Am not I thine ass, upon which
thou hast ridden ever since I was thine unto this day? was I ever wont
to do so unto thee? And he said, Nay.
Then the LORD opened the eyes of Balaam, and he saw the angel of the
LORD standing in the way, and his sword drawn in his hand: and he bowed down
his head, and fell flat on his face.
And the angel of the LORD said unto him, Wherefore hast thou smitten
thine ass these three times? behold, I went out to withstand thee, because thy
way is perverse before me:
And the ass saw me, and turned from me these three times: unless she
had turned from me, surely now also I had slain thee, and saved her alive.
And Balaam said unto the angel of the LORD, I have sinned; for I knew
not that thou stoodest in the way against me: now therefore, if it displeases
thee, I will get me back again.
And the angel of the LORD said unto Balaam, Go with the men: but only
the word that I shall speak unto thee, that thou shalt speak. So Balaam went
with the princes of Balak.
Numbers 22:22-35 KJV
If you read the above
holy scriptures carefully, you will realize that Balaam could have died
foolishly because of his violent anger. There are some things in life you
cannot explain. In such a season, think deeply.
Always reacting to your
anger shows your immaturity, vulnerability, and foolishness because God expects
you to think. There is time to be angry (holy wrath) and time to be silent (see
Ecclesiastes 3:1-8).
It is said that “what a
dog sees and barks at, a cat sees it and ignores it.” Children always shout at
everything because of their immaturity. If anyone or anything can provoke you
to act angrily, you are immature and vulnerable.
He that hath no rule over his own spirit is like a city that
is broken down, and without walls.
Proverbs 25:28 KJV
Do you see how Solomon describes
angry people? You are like a city that is broken down and without walls.
Anybody can attack that city. People who cannot control their anger fall prey
to the traps of the enemy.
Like a city without
walls, anyone can break in to steal precious assets. Examine people in their
angry mood, and you will realize that they act like animals and insane people. Toxic,
violent, and uncontrolled anger can lead to premature death.
For wrath killeth the foolish man, and envy slayeth the silly one.
Job 5:2 KJV
One
of Job’s friends, Eliphaz, states that toxic, violent, and uncontrolled anger
kills a man (including a woman). Some people have developed high blood pressure
and strange diseases because of uncontrolled anger. If you don’t want to die
before your time, learn how to control your anger.
A man of great wrath shall suffer punishment:
for if thou deliver him, yet thou must do it again.
Proverbs 19:19 KJV
The
law court in your country will deal with you when you act violently in the
season of anger. They may not consider your cause. The law court will judge
will not or may not consider the motives behind your anger because they are invisible.
One thing about the law court is that they look at empirical evidence and other pieces of evidence to judge their case. The law court will not consider your anger. They will check your deeds, so learn to control your anger when people tempt you. Think about the consequences of your anger!
- Do you want to end up in prison or dark dungeons?
- Do you want to die prematurely?
- Do you want to develop strange diseases?
- Do you want demons to depress you, oppress you, suppress you, and possess you?
- Do you want to develop psychotic diseases (mental illness)?
- Do you want your family to break into pieces?
- Do you want to face the wrath of the law court in your country?
- Do you want to become a slave to Satan and his minions?
- Do you want to regret your actions?
- Do you want to create an evil historical scar in the bloodline, workplace, and jurisdiction?
- Do you want to lose your business and career?
- Do you want to lose your reputation?
- Do you want to be separated from your loved ones and live with evil and abnormal people?
- Do you want your family, friends, and loved ones to reject you?
- Do you want people to categorize you as a wild animal?
- Do you want the expectations of your enemies to come to pass?
- Do you want to attract the punishment of God?
- Do you want the devil and his minions (demons, witches, wizards, Satanists, evil spirits, sorcerers, and occult members) to send you a friend request in the spiritual, soulish, and earth realm?
If no these questions,
learn how to control the toxic, passive, uncontrolled, ungodly, and violent
anger. Distance yourself from habits that make you angry. Vacate environments
that make you angry.
Create a long gap with
people that makes you angry. Find something purposeful doing in life to break the toxic habit. As I
stated, think about the consequences of your anger. I mean, think twice when you
become angry.
Don’t allow your emotions
(ungodly anger) to control you; instead, control your anger. Grow the seeds of the Holy Spirit in your heart to master negative emotions
such as toxic and uncontrolled anger. Toxic anger does not make you right; it
only increases your ego and reflects your pride, immaturity, self-righteousness,
and abnormality.
He that is slow to wrath is of great understanding: but he
that is hasty of spirit exalteth folly.
Proverbs 14:29 KJV
Anger is bound to emerge
from your heart as a human being but be slow to display it. As the Holy
Scriptures state, people who are slow to express their anger have great wisdom
and understanding.
Are you a vessel of
wisdom, knowledge, and understanding? Then exhibit patience when people provoke
you (meditate on Galatians 5:22-23). It is said that “wise people avoid problems
while intelligent people solve problems.” Which of them best describes you? Are you
wise or intelligent?
He that is slow to anger is better than the mighty; and
he that ruleth his spirit than he that taketh a city.
Proverbs 16:32 KJV
In some of my books and articles, I stated
that age is not maturity. Age is just a number. Real maturity corresponds with
your reasoning. How you make decisions determines your maturity.
Real maturity corresponds
with your growth in God’s Word (Holy Bible). Real
maturity corresponds with your emotional strength, intellectual
strength, social strength, spiritual strength, philosophical strength, and
psychological strength.
You are stronger than a world
heavyweight champion if you can control your emotion (anger). You are mature if
you can channel your anger into doing positive things. Angry people rekindle
conflict, but wise people calm others and solve conflicts in groups (meditate
on Proverbs 15:18). Are you an angry or a wise vessel?
Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place
unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith
the Lord.
Romans 12:19 KJV
I know what the person or
the group did to you was evil and unjust. You have the right to be angry but
let God deal with the issue. God is a righteous Judge. He will repay those who
hurt you.
Being angry with the one
who hurt you means you can deal with the case. Allowing God to settle the
injustice done to you does not mean you are weak. Sometimes, you have to let
the offender know his offense in a godly way (see Matthew 18:15-17).
There are some cases in which
God expects us to use our wisdom. There are some cases God expects the human
authority to deal with. There are some cases God deals with. Ask the Holy
Spirit to teach you the path to tread because He is a counselor.
