Unveiling the Mysteries of the Trinity (One God in Three Persons) - 1
It’s been a long time since
I promised to write this article. In one of my teachings on youtube,
I explained the mysteries of the Trinity. I think I shared that message on
youtube in 2018. I have made that message private.
I will turn the teachings
public soon so you can grab the revelation. In this article, I will briefly
explain the mysteries of the Trinity. This article will contain many bible
verses because that is the foundation of the teachings.
This is a biblical and
revelatory exposition article. I will not use the Hebrew, Greek and Aramaic names
of God to explain the Trinity because it may confuse you. The Word of God is
one of the most important keys to rely on in this article.
So, without wasting much
time, let’s kick in. The Word Trinity is not found in the Bible. Trinity is a signpost
or metaphor some theologians use to describe the three personalities of God. Christian believers DO NOT serve three Gods.
This is one of the truths
(mysteries) you must know in the Christian faith. Like the Hindus, Buddhists, Shintos,
and other religious groups believe in many gods. Christian believers believe in
one God who works in three persons.
The sun is not three but
one. It can produce light, heat, and energy. Like water, it can become solid
when it meets a high cold temperature. That same water can become vapour when
it encounters an exceedingly hot temperature.
Yet the water in not
three. That is the original water, the solid state and the vaporized state. Like
fire, it can turn into smoke. It can generate heat and enlighten a dark place.
That is the one fire, not three fires.
These are simple
analogies I can use to explain the Trinity. Note that these three logical
examples are just assumptions. The analytical examples I used cannot replace,
or best explain the Trinity of God.
It is just a comparison. So,
understand that Christian believers serve one God, not three Gods. In God are three distinct
personalities. Below are some Holy Scriptures that confirm that we (Christian
believers) serve one God.
Know therefore this day, and consider it in thine heart, that
the LORD he is God in heaven above, and upon the earth beneath: there
is none else.
Deuteronomy
4:39 KJV
Ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, and my servant whom I have
chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he:
before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me.
I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no
saviour.
Isaiah 43:10-11 KJV
For thus saith the LORD that created the heavens; God himself that
formed the earth and made it; he hath established it, he created it not in
vain, he formed it to be inhabited: I am the LORD; and there is
none else.
Isaiah 45:18 KJV
So, we can see from the
above Holy Scriptures that the LORD is one. By the inspiration of the Holy
Spirit, God spoke through Prophet Isaiah that there is no God beside Him, which
means God is one.
As stated at the
beginning of the article, there will be many Holy Scriptures to defend the Trinity.
Many Christian believers are confused about the teachings of the Trinity. Some people
believe we serve three Gods.
Some “Christians” do not
believe in Christ Jesus as God Almighty or the Son of God. Some people believe that
Christ Jesus is one of God’s angels. That’s a fallacy and a false doctrine. By
the time I finish this article, you will believe in the Trinity.
I repeat that we (Christian believers) don’t serve three Gods. We serve one God in three persons. Like
an egg, it has a yoke, a shell and the albumen, yet it is not three eggs. In
the book of Genesis, Prophet Moses wrote a revelatory statement about the Trinity.
And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let
them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and
over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that
creepeth upon the earth.
Genesis 1:26 KJV
God said, let us create
man in our image. I hope you get the mystery in this holy text? God said, let US
create man in OUR image, and after OUR likeness. In the above
Holy Scripture, we see the Trinity creating humankind in His image and likeness.
The word “US” is plural.
If God had said that, let “ME” create man in “MY” image, that would
be singular, meaning God is not a triune being. However, the triune being
created humankind in His image and likeness.
Have you realized that
you talk to yourself sometimes? Don't you plan or reason with yourself when you
want to buy something or travel? You may ask, should I buy this product? Is the
product useful?
Should I propose to this
lady? Will this lady accept my proposal? Should I travel to this place at this
time? Should I accept this man’s proposal? Should I read my Bible? When someone
provokes you.
You reason within, should
I reply this person? Should I ignore him? All these conversations work within
the Trinity of man. You are a spirit with a soul, and this soul lives in a body.
That is the Trinity of humankind (meditate on Hebrews 4:12, 1 Thessalonians
5:23, Proverbs 20:27 or get my series of books for more profound
revelation).
We are created in the
image and likeness of God. God has a male and female “hormone.” That is why men
behave like men and women behave like women. You will be surprised when a man
does everything like a woman because that is not how God created man.
The same applies to women
acting like men. God is a tripartite being, and He created us in a threefold
mode. Haven’t you observed some men behaving like women and some women acting
like men?
Get me right; I am not
talking about transgender people. I am describing men who sometimes act like
women in their behavior. Sometimes you see some men acting so emotional.
Naturally, most women are emotional, so it is not surprising to see them acting
emotionally.
Whatever God can do, we
can also do it, except sin.
God’s wrath (wickedness) comes on evil things. Not like people who are wicked
in their ways and thoughts. God can laugh, cry, and act angrily when provoked,
but he will not sin in that state.
The same applies to human
beings. We can be happy, sad, and angry at times because we were created in the
image and likeness of God. The only thing God does not do is sleep and commit
evil.
Some people argue that
when God said, let us create man in our image and likeness; God was referring
to the angels. God was not referring to the angels when he said let us create
man in our image because angels cannot give life.
Angels are made with fire
and mysterious ornaments. Human beings possess the image and likeness of God. We
have the whole nature of the Trinity. None of the angels has the entire nature
of God.
However, God can permit an
angel to take on the form of a human being and work on earth for a short time.
In that season, that angel will possess the full image and likeness of God
(human beings). Let’s read from the book of John.
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word
was God.
The same was in the beginning with God.
All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made
that was made.
In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it
not.
There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.
The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men
through him might believe.
He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that
Light.
That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the
world.
He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew
him not.
He came unto his own, and his own received him not.
But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons
of God, even to them that believe on his name:
Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the
will of man, but of God.
And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his
glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and
truth.
John
1:1-14 KJV
These are the words of
Apostle John. Apostle John writes that the Word was with God. The Word became
flesh and dwelt among humankind. Do you know who the Word is? The Word is
Christ Jesus.
In the beginning, Christ Jesus
existed. Christ Jesus was with God, and Christ Jesus was the God in Genesis who
created humankind. Christ Jesus was within God, creating the universe. God
Almighty took on the form of a human being and lived among creation.
And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was
manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto
the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.
1 Timothy 3:16 KJV
So, you get the key
concept. God became a man (Christ Jesus). God could have manifested on earth as
a woman, but he didn’t because man is the representative of earth. When you see
a man, you have seen an aspect of a woman.
The angels had the
opportunity to see and experience God (Christ Jesus) on earth. God preached to
the world. Some believed in Him, and others rejected Him. He was crucified on
the cross. God rose on the third day and ascended into heaven to seal our
fellowship with the Trinity. In another gospel account, we see the mystery of
the Trinity.
Now when all the people were baptized, it came to pass, that Jesus also
being baptized, and praying, the heaven was opened,
And the Holy Ghost descended in a bodily shape like a dove upon him,
and a voice came from heaven, which said, Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I am
well pleased.
Luke 3:21-22 KJV
I hope you get the picture?
When Christ Jesus received baptism from Prophet John, the Trinity revealed
themselves. The heavens opened. The Holy Spirit, in a bodily form, descended on
Christ Jesus like a dove.
The Heavenly Father affirmed
the Sonship of Christ Jesus. So, we can see the three distinct personalities
operating on earth. The Son (Christ Jesus) and the Holy Spirit (dove) reveal
themselves on earth whiles the Heavenly Father speak from heaven.
This means the Heavenly Father
did most of the speaking in the old covenant because the prophets and priests
occasionally heard the voice of God from heaven. However, the Holy Spirit is
doing most of the talking in our time. Let’s conclude the mysteries of the Trinity
with these Holy Scriptures.
For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word,
and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.
And there are three that bear witness in earth, the spirit, and the
water, and the blood: and these three agree in one.
1
John 5:7-8 KJV
In heaven, there is one
God, and He operates in three persons (the Heavenly Father, the Word and the
Holy Ghost). When you see Christ Jesus, you have seen the Heavenly Father and
the Holy Spirit.
You have seen the Heavenly
Father and Christ Jesus when you see the Holy Spirit. When you see the Heavenly
Father, you have seen the Holy Spirit and Christ Jesus. There are a whole lot of
scriptures to prove the Trinity.
Keep this biblical revelation.
I will explain in detail in my upcoming articles on the Athanasian Creed and
the council of Nicaea and how they affect the Trinity. I will share with you how
Christ Jesus proved himself to be God Almighty in the Holy Scriptures,
objections about the Trinity, and several wisdom keys about the Godhead
(Trinity).
Also, note that there is
a great difference between these three statements. Three Gods in one person.
Three Gods in three persons and one God in three persons.
To be continued…
Check out this important teaching about the Trinity by Pastor Myles Munroe. I listened to it several years ago, and it was helpful.
