It was my first time
visiting a mortuary in Koforidua (the eastern region of Ghana). When I entered
the place, I saw the mortuary workers (men) bathing some corpses. I saw a
corpse being dressed beautifully in a wooden casket.
As I observed the corpse
in the wooden casket, I felt in my spirit that the dead woman did not receive
enough love from her family. I felt the Lord telling me that abuse led to her
premature death.
As I stood observing the
environment, I saw the mortuary men open a big door. Inside the room came a
strong and strange odor. The room had no light, but I saw many corpses arranged
like “trees.”
I saw a corpse (a pregnant
woman) with her dead baby. I saw adult men, young men, and women arranged in
the room like “trees.” One of the mortuary men brought a corpse (an older woman)
on a table from the room.
As soon as he brought the older
woman from the mortuary room, he started bathing her on a table. Another thing
I observed in the mortuary was that the corpses were naked. There was nothing
like rich, poor, old, or young corpses.
One thing that identified
the corpses was that numbers hung on their toes. The corpses were arranged like
“fishes” in boxes. I felt and smelled a strange odor coming from the room. It
took me more than five days to forget that encounter.
It took several days
before the strange scent within the mortuary room left me. You may be asking
why I am sharing this information. The truth is that everything that has breath
has an expiry
date.
God (Yahweh) is the only
one who
cannot die because He is the source of life. A time
is coming; we shall “die”
and stand before the judgment seat of Christ Jesus. Books will be opened in
heaven, and everyone will receive his reward or judgment.
Is your name in the book
of life? I mean, does heaven bears a record of your name? Your name might be in
the Church, school, family, business, and association records. Is your name in
the book of life? In the New Testament, Apostle John wrote about the book of
life.
And I saw the dead, small
and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was
opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things
which were written in the books, according to their works.
And whosoever was not
found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
Revelation
20:12,15 KJV
As you can see, the book
of life holds the records of the
saints. If your name is not found in the book of life, you
will be cast into the lake fire. The fact that your name is in the Church does
not mean your name is in the book of life.
The book of life contains
the names of those born
again—people who have repented
from their sins and accepted Christ Jesus as their Saviour and Lord. Like the
scene in the mortuary, a time is coming; you
will end there.
If you are to
die now, are you sure the holy angels will find
your name in the book of life? If Christ Jesus should appear now, are you sure
the holy angels will find your name in the book of life?
Christianity is not a
playground to show your beauty, pride, assets, money, connections, and status.
Christianity is a walk
of the Spirit. We walk and live by the
principles of the Word (Holy Bible) and leadership of the Holy Spirit. In one of my evangelism, I met a young
man. I inquired about his background, and he told me that his father is a
Muslim and his mother is a Christian.
In our conversation, I learned
that he had been a Christian for eleven years. He told me that he rejected
Christianity because there was no love in the Church. This brother told me that
“Christians”
were partial in their dealing and relationship.
He said many things he
didn’t like about the Church and the misconduct of the “Christian
believers” and “leaders.” This guy
was renting his apartment. Observing him, he could afford his basic needs and
wants but decided to quit Christianity because he felt disunity in Christianity
and “unity” in Islam.
I explained why some
churches and “Christians”
misbehave and tried convincing him to return to the Church (Christ Jesus). Getting
to the end of the conversation, he assured me he might return
to Christianity.
I did not impose
Christianity on him because he has lived with some “Christian family” for
almost eleven years (from age nine to twenty). However, he is now with the
Muslims because he felt Christians were not portraying the life and teachings of
Christ Jesus and the principles of the Word (Holy Scriptures).
He told me Islam was
safer because the people within the mosque were impartial. He gave me many
reasons he loved the Islamic faith. However, I believe the Holy Spirit will use
him to do great works because I saw the call of God upon his life.
The Holy Spirit is
training him for the harvest. At the appointed time, the Holy Spirit will use
him to transform Muslims and empower Christian believers. Some doctrines in
specific churches are producing carnal
and soulish Christian believers.
Many wolves in sheep’s
clothing are deceiving innocent people, and it is your responsibility to know
the truth (the Holy Bible). Some people claim to be born again. However, their
names are not recorded in the book of life.
Paying your offerings,
tithes, and sowing seeds to expand the Church is not enough. It is not enough
to exhibit your Christianity with church attendance. Although attending church
services and paying your offering is part of the Christian faith, you
must know God for yourself. It is good to have your
name recorded in the Church’s book. However, it would be best if you were
assured that your name is recorded in the Lamb’s book of life.
Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the
kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in
thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many
wonderful works?
And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye
that work iniquity.
Matthew 7:21-23 KJV
You may think your good
works qualify you to be in heaven. However, Christ Jesus will reject you
because you work iniquities (see Matthew 7:21-23). Your good works will generate
eternal rewards
in the Celestial city if Christ Jesus records your name in his book
(the book of life).
Some “Christian
believers” may be surprised when Christ Jesus denies them on judgment day. These
“Christian
believers” might think their accurate prophecies, good
works, evangelism, intercession, and church planting will save them.
However, Christ Jesus
will deny them because he did not know them. These Christians acted like the
Pharisees who had no relationship with God (the Holy Spirit). Wickedness and
willful disobedience to God’s Word can erase your name from the book of life
(meditate on Matthew 7:21-23 and check
out these articles for more profound
revelations).
As we can see in the Holy
Scriptures, Christ Jesus will respond to these professing Christians, “I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work
iniquity.” People who devise wicked
schemes to destroy others will not make it to heaven because it is the work of
iniquity (perpetrators of evil).
You can be working
miracles and doing great works in the house of God. However, if you are a
worker of wickedness, count yourself out of the Lamb’s book of life. Christ
Jesus does not condone people who work iniquity in his kingdom. Check out my

The Case of Lazarus and
the rich man
There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine
linen, and fared sumptuously every day:
And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his
gate, full of sores,
And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man's
table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores.
And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the
angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried;
And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham
afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.
And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send
Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue;
for I am tormented in this flame.
But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst
thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and
thou art tormented.
And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so
that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to
us, that would come from thence.
Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him
to my father's house:
For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also
come into this place of torment.
Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear
them.
And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the
dead, they will repent.
And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither
will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.
Luke 16:19 -31 KJV
Some people allow their money,
business, and temporal assets to create a prideful impression. They
allow money to blind their spiritual senses. Because of money, some people have
become slaves
to demons and systems of the world.
Money is good but don’t
allow it to control you. Money has a spiritual substance. If you don’t dominate
the spirit of money with divine
wisdom, it can lead you to do unnecessary things. Lazarus
died and went to heaven.
He did not have money, caring
family, friends, and basic assets to cater to his needs and wants. In his
poverty state, he knew God. He was faithful to God till his death. Lazarus
received eternal blessings after his physical death.
However, the rich man who
trusted his temporal wealth perished in hell. This rich man rejected the poor
and worked iniquity. He did not regard God and the poor because He allowed
money to control his life.
None of his family and
friends regarded God because of temporal assets. When the rich man died, he
went to a place of torment. He went to hell because his name was not recorded
in the book of life.
Power, money, and fame
are temporal things, so don’t put all your faith in them. A time is coming your
money will fail you. A time is coming; you will lose power in the government,
workplace, and jurisdiction.
A time is coming; your
status and acquired assets will be useless because we don’t use money, power,
and fame to enter heaven. God does not record your name in the book of life
because of your money, power, and fame.
He records your name in
the book of life because Christ Jesus knows you. God records your name in the
Lamb’s book of life because you are born again. Lazarus did not enter hell because he was poor. He entered heaven because his name was in the book of life.
The rich man did not
enter heaven because of his wealth. The rich did not enter heaven
because his name was not recorded in the book of life. Lazarus, too could have
missed heaven if his name was not recorded in the book of life.
The Goats and Sheep
When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels
with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory:
And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate
them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats:
And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the
left.
Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed
of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the
world:
For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave
me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:
Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in
prison, and ye came unto me.
Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an
hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink?
When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and
clothed thee?
Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee?
And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch
as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have
done it unto me.
Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye
cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:
For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye
gave me no drink:
I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not:
sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not.
Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred,
or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not
minister unto thee?
Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as
ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me.
And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous
into life eternal.
Matthew 25:31-46 KJV
- Are you on the side of the goats or the sheep?
- Do you help the poor from your heart?
- Do you visit the vulnerable?
- Do you encourage or discourage others?
- Are you financially fit to feed the poor, sick and those in prison but have decided to ignore them?
- Do you value people or rubbish people?
- Are you using the financial blessings to build the Church and support gospel ministers?
God knows our hearts. If
you want to keep your name in the book of life, act like the sheep described in
the Holy Scriptures (see Matthew 25:31-46).
The Judgment of God
For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down
to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto
judgment;
And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person,
a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the
ungodly;
And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha into ashes condemned them
with an overthrow, making them an ensample unto those that after should
live ungodly;
And delivered just Lot, vexed with the filthy conversation of the
wicked:
(For that righteous man dwelling among them, in
seeing and hearing, vexed his righteous soul from day to day with their
unlawful deeds;)
The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to
reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished:
2 Peter 2:4-9 KJV
In the time of Noah, God
did not spare the wicked people. In Sodom and Gomorrah, he did not spare the
wicked people (homosexuals, lesbians, and the ungodly). In heaven, God did not
spare the wicked angels.
In the same way, Christ
Jesus will not spare the wicked on judgment day. God has reserved a day of judgment
and rewards. Are you on the broad way or the narrow way? Today, there are several
churches teaching and preaching strange doctrines.
Most of these doctrines
are from the devil and ignorant vessels (hypocrites). If you are ignorant of
the Word (Holy Scriptures), these wolves in sheep’s clothing will deceive you.
Many people are on the path to destruction because they have rejected the
narrow way.
If your name is not
recorded in the book of life, you will miss the
celestial city. It doesn’t matter how anointed, and religious you are;
if your name is not found in the book of life, you are going straight to the
lake of fire (see Revelation 20:12,15).
For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every
one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he
hath done, whether it be good or bad.
Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are
made manifest unto God; and I trust also are made manifest in your consciences.
2 Corinthians 5:10-11 KJV
Each of us will stand
before the judgment seat of Christ Jesus. Whatever we do (whether good or bad),
we shall give account to Christ Jesus. Have you ever felt the terror of God? Have
you ever felt the thunder strike? God is a Lamb and Lion!
And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the
judgment:
Hebrews 9:27 KJV
Will you receive rewards or judgment after death? You have a choice. God will record your name in the book of life if you repent from your evil ways (sins), confess Christ Jesus as the Savior and Lord of your life, and become as humble as the child (see John 3:1-7, Matthew 18:3)
