Many are Called but Few are Chosen [Top 5 Master Keys to Fruitfulness]
And Jesus answered and spake unto them again by parables, and said,
The kingdom of heaven is like unto a certain king, which made a
marriage for his son,
And sent forth his servants to call them that were bidden to the
wedding: and they would not come.
Again, he sent forth other servants, saying, Tell them which are
bidden, Behold, I have prepared my dinner: my oxen and my fatlings are
killed, and all things are ready: come unto the marriage.
But they made light of it, and went their ways, one to his farm,
another to his merchandise:
And the remnant took his servants, and entreated them
spitefully, and slew them.
But when the king heard thereof, he was wroth: and he sent forth
his armies, and destroyed those murderers, and burned up their city.
Then saith he to his servants, The wedding is ready, but they which
were bidden were not worthy.
Go ye therefore into the highways, and as many as ye shall find, bid to
the marriage.
So those servants went out into the highways, and gathered together all
as many as they found, both bad and good: and the wedding was furnished with
guests.
And when the king came in to see the guests, he saw there a man which
had not on a wedding garment:
And he saith unto him, Friend, how camest thou in hither not having a
wedding garment? And he was speechless.
Then said the king to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and take
him away, and cast him into outer darkness; there shall be weeping and
gnashing of teeth.
For many are called, but few are chosen.
Matthew 22:1-14 KJV
Our Savior and Lord Christ
Jesus used this parable to explain the kingdom of heaven. He used wise saying
to explain the mysteries of God’s kingdom (the call of God). You can be in the
kingdom of God and miss the kingdom of heaven because there are rules and
regulations in each kingdom.
The kingdom of heaven
belongs to those whose names are recorded in the Lamb’s book of life. The kingdom
of God has several departments. For example, the church is part of God’s
kingdom. The heart of the Christian
believer is an aspect of God’s kingdom.
Some parts of the
heavenly realms are sections of God’s kingdom. You can work in the kingdom of God
and miss the kingdom of heaven if the Trinity does not know you (meditate on Matthew
7:22-23).
You can miss the
kingdom of heaven if you don’t do the will of the Heavenly Father. You can miss
the kingdom of heaven if you work iniquity. You will recognize that Christ
Jesus made a profound statement in the opening holy scriptures.
Christ Jesus said many
are called, but few are chosen. God has called numerous people to work in his
vineyard, but few are responding. Being called by God is the first level of the
ministry. You must respond to the call of God to enable the Holy Spirit to use
you.
You must submit to the
call of God to enable the glory, power, favor, blessings, mercies, and spiritual
gifts (anointing) of the Holy Spirit to work in your life. God does not force you
to do something because you are not a robot.
You have the free will
to accept or reject the call of God. If you accept the call of God, you become
a vessel in the hands of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit will use you to
glorify the kingdom of God and the kingdom of heaven when you enter the gate of
ministry.
God has several ways
of calling people to work in his kingdom. If you check the people called used,
you will realize they had something in common. For example, God told Abraham to
depart from his father’s house.
The Heavenly Father
told Abraham to move out of his father’s house because Abraham needed quality
time with the
Trinity. The spiritual forces within Abraham’s house were hindering the
call of Abraham.
God separated Abraham
from his family because Abraham’s comfort zone created a barrier to the divine
call. If you check the life of Moses, God allowed him to live with the
Egyptians for some time.
Later, God allowed
Moses to learn some leadership skills and the culture of the Israelites from
Jethro. Joseph’s call was also unique. Joseph had to serve in Egypt to grow his
leadership skills. Joseph learned human service and grew in wisdom in the land
of Egypt.
God called Daniel to work
in governmental and leadership positions. God called Peter to work with the Jews
and Paul to work with the Gentiles. John the Baptist was in the field of evangelism.
Some people are called
to plant churches. Some are called on evangelistic ministries. Christian missionaries
travel to different places to preach the gospel. Some people are called to
serve in the house of God with their gifts.
Some people are called
to train Christian ministers. Some are called to operate in the office of Apostles,
Prophets, Pastors, Evangelists, and Teachers of the Word (See Ephesians
4:11-12). Some people are called to work miracles, whiles others are called to
supply wisdom.
In African countries, most
people love miracles. Because of the rampant spiritual activities in Africa, spiritual
power is necessary for the kingdom (the ministry of God). In foreign countries
such as America, Europe, Australia, and other parts of the world, many people love
wisdom.
The Holy Spirit prepares
you for the people. Like the Africans, you will not get their attention if you
lack spiritual power. If you lack wisdom, you will not get the attention of the
Americans, Europeans, and Australians.
Although each
continent desires wisdom and spiritual power, specific continents earnestly seek
spiritual power and wisdom. If you are not aligned to the specification of the people,
you will miss the call.
God knows your
temperament and personality. He knows your tribe and the people you must help in
the kingdom of God. The Holy Spirit has revealed the people I must focus on,
the ministries I should follow, and those I shouldn’t follow.
I’m praying for grace and
preparing myself so that I can enter into real ministry. You have to understand
the call of God because ignorance of this truth can enslave you. If you read the
opening holy scriptures, you will realize that the people who rejected the
king's invitation were ignored and destroyed.
The king commanded his
servants to call for outsiders. The publicans and outsiders that accepted the king's
invitation received the blessings. In the context of the holy scriptures, the
king is a symbol of God.
The servants of the
king are the holy angels. The people who received invitations to the king’s
feast are the people living on earth. God has invited you to his feast (the
kingdom harvest). He will not force you to respond to the invitation.
However, he will
bypass you and invite others if you reject his invitation. You will face his
wrath if you reject his call. In this article, I will emphasize the words of
our Savior and Lord Christ Jesus, “Many are called, but few are chosen.”
I will share the top five
reasons people do not respond to the call of God and further explain to you how to become a chosen vessel in God’s kingdom. In other words, I will share the
top five reasons many are called, but God chooses few. Knowing these truths will
prepare you for the harvest. Check out my article on how
to make God use you for more profound revelations.
Top five (5) reasons the Holy Spirit chooses few people for kingdom harvest
1. Because of
the world’s influence
…Demas hath forsaken me, having loved this present
world, and is departed unto Thessalonica; Crescens to Galatia, Titus unto
Dalmatia.
2
Timothy 4:10 KJV
Demas was one of the
workers in God’s kingdom. He couldn’t respond properly to the divine call
because of the world. Many people cannot respond to God's call because of their
pride in life, lust for the flesh and the world's persecutions.
If you are only concerned
about food, water, security and basic things of this world, you will not respond
to the call of God. One thing you must know about this world is that several people
are swimming in the pool of the enemy (the
rat race).
As human beings, we
need basic things such as food, water, shelter, and security. However, you must
understand that we don’t solely survive on earthly things (meditate on Luke
4:2-4, Matthew 6:25, Luke 12:15).
Earthly things have an
expiry date, but heavenly things last forever. The ways of God are mysterious. If
God calls and chooses you, he will provide. Christianity is a walk of faith. If
you allow your five senses to dominate you all the time, you will shut down the
voice of the Holy Spirit.
The voice of the world
opposes the voice of the Holy Spirit. If you succumb to the pressures of the
world, you will reject the call of God. God expects you to act in faith because
faith moves him to act on your behalf (meditate on Hebrews 11:6).
The world's knowledge
challenges the wisdom of God; therefore, apply wisdom with the counsels of the
unbelievers and professing
Christians. If you want to be part of God’s chosen vessels, reject the
ungodly counsels, destructive
criticism, and deception of the world.
Demas rejected the
call of God because he loved the world more than Christ Jesus and the church. You
will not deviate from the path of God if your love for Christ Jesus is greater
than the world.
You can love the
church and still miss the call of God, but you can never miss the call of God if
you love Christ Jesus with all your heart. Loving the church can open the portal
for the Holy Spirit to pour his anointing on you.
However, loving the
church does not necessarily mean the Holy Spirit will anoint you for the
harvest. There is no way you will love Christ Jesus with your heart and
miss the
anointing of the Holy Spirit.
If you love Christ
Jesus, the Holy Spirit will draw you closer to the church. If you only love the
church, you will act like a religious unbeliever. Like the Pharisees, they loved
the church but did not know God.
Check out my article, how
to know God and have faith in him and my book, how to worship God in Spirit and truth. The wisdom keys will help you connect more with the Holy
Spirit. You are a stranger on this land.
Your permanent home is heaven (the new earth). Why don’t you sacrifice your comfort zone for God’s kingdom? The Holy Spirit will not force you to accept his call, but he will give you signs that he is interested in you.
- Do you see yourself catching fish in your dream?
- Do you see yourself sitting on a bus with a group of people in your dream?
- Do you see yourself driving a car in your dream?
- Do you see yourself in an airplane in your dream?
- Do you see yourself ministering the Word of God in your dream?
- Do you see yourself praying for others in your dream?
These are a few spiritual
signs to help you know that the Holy Spirit is calling you to work in the ministry.
Are you rejecting the call of God because of the world? Repent for a
turnaround!
2. Because of
personal assets
And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing
shall I do, that I may have eternal life?
And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none
good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the
commandments.
He saith unto him, Which? Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou
shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false
witness,
Honour thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy
neighbour as thyself.
The young man saith unto him, All these things have I kept from my
youth up: what lack I yet?
Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that
thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and
come and follow me.
But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful: for
he had great possessions.
Matthew
19:16-22 KJV
Like the young man who
wanted to follow Christ Jesus, he was not ready to respond to the call of God
because of his great possession. God has not chosen many people to work in his
vineyard because they cannot sacrifice their work, business and possession.
Their assets have
become a barrier to God’s kingdom. Becoming a worker in the vineyard demands
sacrifice and obedience. If you are not ready to sacrifice your treasures, you
cannot become a candidate in the house of God.
You cannot treasure your
assets with all your heart and serve God simultaneously. You cannot look into a
bottle with your two eyes simultaneously. In the same way, you cannot pretend
in the sight of God.
The Holy Spirit can
see and feel your secret thoughts. You may deceive people, but you cannot
deceive the Holy Spirit. God has not chosen you to work in his kingdom because you
value your assets more than the Holy Spirit.
In God’s kingdom, his house
comes before the blessings. Suppose you seek the blessings before the kingdom.
In that case, you will miss the divine call (meditate on Matthew 6:33). Before
the Holy Spirit pours the anointing on you, he searches your heart.
The Holy Spirit wants
to be sure of your heart. Like Abraham, God tested him. God wanted to see whether
Abraham loved him more than his beloved son (Isaac). In the same way, God needs
assurance.
This does not mean God
does not know the thoughts of your heart. God knows your heart, but he has
decided not to know them. God knows your heart, but he cannot force himself on
you. He has given you your free will.
You can accept or
reject his call. You can focus on your assets or the church. If you are ready
to sacrifice your treasures (time, money, and strength) for the kingdom of God,
the Holy Spirit will prepare you for the harvest.
If you are ready to work
with all your heart, resources, and strength, the Holy Spirit will anoint you
for the harvest. I sacrifice my precious time to write articles and books. I evangelize
in tertiary schools, public centers, and online with all my heart.
God knows my heart, so
he blesses me. When I receive financial seeds, I sow most of the money into the
kingdom of God. Count yourself out of God’s kingdom if you are not ready to
sacrifice. If you are not prepared to give your best to the Lord, the Holy
Spirit will not pour his anointing
on you. If you love your job or business more than God’s kingdom, the
Holy Spirit will not choose you.
3. Because of
your family.
He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and
he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.
Matthew
10:37 KJV
The Holy Spirit cannot
work with you because you love your parents, siblings, and friends more than
him. If you want the Holy Spirit to anoint you for the kingdom harvest, let
your love for God and the church be greater than your love for your family and
friends.
If you analyze the
works the Holy Spirit has used me to do, you will realize it is uncommon. I
have written over 400 articles and over 50 books by God's grace.
Within these few years, I have come out with these works.
Do you think I could
make it to this point if I always hung out with my friends and family? Download
and read my free book if you want to know how I wrote over 40 books and
over 400 articles within three years.
One thing you must
realize about the kingdom work is that it demands discipline and consistency. Christ
Jesus stated that if you love your mother or father more than him, you are not
worthy to be his
disciple (see Matthew 10:37).
Christ Jesus is not telling
you to reject your family. Instead, he is telling you to love him and the
church more than family members. Christ Jesus and the church must come before
your family and friends.
Your family members
may reject you one day, but Christ Jesus will not abandon you (meditate on
Psalms 27:10, Hebrews 13:5, Matthew 10:21-22). If you want the Holy Spirit to
anoint you for the end-time harvest, let your love for Christ Jesus and the church
exceed your love for family and friends.
When your love for God
and the church exceeds your love for your family and friends, the unbelievers
and professing
Christians in your bloodline will start to fight you. It is part of the
cross you must carry if you want the Holy Spirit to choose you. Some of your family
and loved ones will connect with you when the hands of God come upon your life.
4. Low or no spiritual
discipline
People cannot respond
to the call of God because they are not disciplined spiritually. Before the Holy
Spirit anoints you for the harvest, he checks your spiritual
maturity. Some people don’t have the time fast
and pray.
Some people don’t have
time to study
the Holy Bible. If you cannot fast, pray and study the Word of God
consistently, count yourself out of God’s laborers. You must understand that
the kingdom work is not for children and lazy people.
The kingdom work is a spiritual
journey. You will encounter people with strange spiritual powers. Some will attack
you spiritually. Some will intentionally offend you to test your maturity.
Demons will attack you
from various angles if you decide to work in the kingdom of God. The Holy
Spirit will demand some discipline if you want to work with him. If I should
share some of the spiritual attacks I receive, you will pray for me or advise
me to stop the kingdom's work.
Satan and his minions
will not sit idle and let you win souls into the kingdom of God. People with evil
spirits will not allow you to win souls for God. They will fight you with all
their might and power.
Because of this, the
Holy Spirit expects you to discipline yourself psychologically, socially, physically
and above all, spiritually. Fasting and prayers have become part of my life. I
fast and occasionally pray to build my spiritual muscles.
I don’t want the
kingdom of darkness to dominate me. I want to be sensitive
to the Holy Spirit. I study God’s
Word and decree them over my life. Whenever I win souls into the kingdom of
God, some of them sow seeds (money) to help me in the ministry.
I pray for the souls that
surrender their lives to Christ Jesus. I also pray for those that sow seed (offering
and tithes) to me. Through my prayers, God delivers these precious souls from
the hands of the devil.
Do you think the devil
will not fight back when I dedicate my time to praying for the saved souls? The
evil spirits tormenting the people I have been praying for will focus on me
because I have become a stumbling block.
In the same way, when
you win souls into the kingdom of God and intercede for the souls, the demons
tormenting those vessels will focus on you. To become a competent candidate in God’s
kingdom, the Holy Spirit expects you to build your spiritual muscles through
prayer, fasting, sanctification and the Word.
The Holy Spirit does
not want the devil and his minions to murder you. He wants you prepared for the
spiritual battle. If you are not ready to discipline yourself physically, psychologically,
and spiritually, the Holy Spirit will not choose (anoint) you for the harvest.
5. No gravity
to stand in opposition
People cannot respond
to the call of God because they are not ready to face the wrath, destructive
criticism and rejection
of the world. Imagine your family, friends, and co-workers fighting you
because of your stand for Christ Jesus and the church.
What will you do in the
season
of spiritual attacks and affliction? The world hates Christ Jesus and
the church because their philosophy challenges the Word of God (Holy Bible). In
God’s kingdom, the Word is our constitution.
We live by the principles
and leadership of the Holy Spirit. Evil spirits control most of the unbelievers.
These blind people will persecute, reject,
resent, oppose, falsely accuse, and offend you because they did it to Christ
Jesus (John 15:18-19). If you are not ready to face the world's opposition, the
Holy Spirit will not choose you. Are you prepared to respond to the call of God?
