Why We Must Love Knowledge [101 Mind Blowing Benefits of Reading Books] – 7
Knowledge is flexible
One thing about our mind
is that it does not get “tired” of learning new things. Learning new things is
a responsibility. What you knew yesterday can be obsolete the next day. What
you know today can be irrelevant in the future.
This is one reason you
must learn and study every day. Have you realized that the more you read, you
conclude that there is more to learn? The more you learn, you acknowledge that you
know little or nothing.
The more you read, it
reminds you of your ignorance
and limitations. The desire for knowledge shows you are wise. It is
only unwise people that hate knowledge (see Proverbs 1:7,22). Proud people live
with their limited knowledge.
They keep their little
knowledge. Proud people think that if they share their knowledge, people will
use it against them. However, it doesn’t work that way. From my experience, the
more you share your knowledge, the greater your creativity.
Teaching others empowers
you to desire more knowledge. Teaching others increases your understanding. Like
a seed, it multiplies when planted. The more you give out, the Holy
Spirit fills you.
One secret about knowledge
is that it makes you a potential leader. What you know can position you to
become a light to your family, organization, and group. Acquiring knowledge
makes you smart.
Knowledge makes you see
the end from the beginning. In other words, you become “omniscient.” I am not
describing the proud people who think they know it all. However, I’m describing
people who desire to learn.
Such people become fixed assets
to the organization, church, and family. You cannot easily outsmart
knowledgeable people because they are strong mentally, emotionally, and “spiritually.”
Knowledge makes you walk through the storms.
Despite the evidence, you
triumph over the barriers because you know what to do to become successful. One
reason you fail in the storms is because of your ignorance. Knowledge breaks
the seal of hopelessness, depression, and poverty.
Knowledge drives abusive
people from you. Abusive people know knowledgeable people understand their
tricks, so they do not use them. Manipulators know they cannot exploit
knowledgeable people, so they think twice. Desire knowledge if you don’t want
abusive manipulators to control you.
Evil spirits analyze the mind
Demons know the power of
knowledge. Evil spirits can analyze you. They know they cannot use a strategy
they use on ignorant people on knowledgeable people. Satan takes much time to
control knowledgeable people because he knows he cannot easily get them.
Evil spirits and enemies
will not use you as a scapegoat if you are mentally, emotionally, and spiritually
strong. I mean, if you are knowledgeable, enemies will think twice. An evil
spirit attacked seven Jewish men because they were empty (ignorant). However,
the evil spirit knew the power (knowledge) of Apostle Paul.
Then certain of the vagabond Jews, exorcists, took upon them to call
over them which had evil spirits the name of the Lord Jesus, saying, We adjure
you by Jesus whom Paul preacheth.
And there were seven sons of one Sceva, a Jew, and chief
of the priests, which did so.
And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know;
but who are ye?
And the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, and overcame
them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and
wounded.
Acts 19:13-16 KJV
If you read the above
Holy Scriptures, you will realize that the evil spirit recognized Apostle Paul.
This means the devil and his minions know you. The devil and his minions do not
attack anybody just like that.
They analyze your
spiritual, emotional, and mental strengths before attacking. The devil did not
send his minions to tempt Christ Jesus because he knew the power base
(knowledge level) of Christ Jesus.
Satan tempted Christ
Jesus because He knew Christ Jesus’ power (knowledge) exceeded his cohorts (see
Luke 4:1-12). Evil spirits and demons attack based on your knowledge and
maturity. Stronger demons equal stronger power (knowledge). Similarly, higher
power (knowledge) equals higher angelic forces from God. Lesser demons will
flee your presence if you carry higher power (knowledge).
And when he was come to the other side into the country of the
Gergesenes, there met him two possessed with devils, coming out of the tombs,
exceeding fierce, so that no man might pass by that way.
And, behold, they cried out, saying, What have we to do with thee,
Jesus, thou Son of God? art thou come hither to torment us before the time?
Matthew 8:28-29 KJV
The evil spirits in the
men recognized the power of Christ
Jesus. They knew Christ Jesus’ knowledge exceeded theirs, so they trembled. Do
you want demons to tremble at your presence? Acquire spiritual power (knowledge).
Read spiritual books and
apply the principles. Demons will recognize you and flee. Read spiritual books
and apply the principles. Angels of God will recognize your voice. Read and
hear more of the Word. You will possess an unconquerable faith (meditate on
Romans 10:17).
Knowledge makes you invisible
Spiritual and resourceful
knowledge can make you untouchable. Demons will bow to your command if you have
higher power. I mean great spiritual knowledge. Nature will bow to your command
if you have higher power (knowledge).
The sea, river, ocean,
and wind will bow to your command if you possess higher knowledge (anointing) working
in your inner man (meditate on Luke 8:22-25). A Manufacturing plant that processes
oil needs high power (voltage).
You cannot run that plant
with the power charging your phone. Analyze your electronic chargers. You will
observe that it can take a specific voltage. That’s their power base. Strong
electronic devices demand high power (voltage).
Similarly, low electronic
devices require low power (voltage). What is your capacity (voltage)? How heavy
is your knowledge? Can your knowledge supply power to high electronic devices? Is
your knowledge basic?
Professors do not teach
at Kindergarten. They teach at tertiary institutions because that’s their
level. Professors speak to mature and intelligent people because they have
great knowledge. What is the level of your knowledge?
Desire high knowledge if
you want to walk with superior people. One thing about knowledge is that it
expands your territory and productivity. Knowledge makes you do uncommon
things. Knowledge can make you do something ten, thousand, millions, and
billions of people can do.
Knowledge is a like a
light. It brightens your environment. Knowledge breaks the prison of
uncertainty and catapults you to the realm of possibilities. Knowledge gives
you access to the realm of creativity.
If you want to amount to anything in this life, desire knowledge. I mean, read books. Read resourceful and spiritual books. Books can restructure your mind. It can renovate your broken vision, plans, and mission. Knowledge can silence the voice of the enemy. It can connect you to your helpers. Knowledge can make you unconquerable, unstoppable, unbeatable, and uncommon.
- If you don’t want people to limit your progress, acquire knowledge.
- If you don’t want to become common, acquire uncommon knowledge.
- If you don’t want the devil and his minions to manipulate you and those connected to you, acquire knowledge.
- If you want the divine angels to submit to your orders, acquire knowledge.
- If you don’t want to become a prisoner, acquire knowledge.
- If you don’t want nature to fight you, acquire knowledge.
- If you want animals to connect with you, acquire knowledge.
- If you don’t want to die before your time, acquire knowledge.
- If you need the help of God, acquire knowledge.
- If you don’t want to remain in your dark (depression, hopelessness, poverty, confusion, wickedness, and accursed) state, acquire resourceful and spiritual knowledge (meditate on Hosea 4:6).
- If you don’t want to become a remote control in the hands of the wicked, acquire knowledge
- If you don’t want to become useless and unprofitable, acquire knowledge.
- If you want people to value you, acquire knowledge.
- If you want to fulfill the call of God upon your life, acquire knowledge.
- If you want to climb the ladder of success, acquire knowledge.
- If you want to maintain your salvation, acquire knowledge.
- Acquire knowledge if you want your ministry, organization, and business to run without your presence.
- If you want resourceful people to connect with you, acquire knowledge.
- If you want to maintain your relationship with the Holy Spirit, acquire knowledge.
Desire books as you
desire food, money, water, and basic needs. If you read, you will know what to
do to become successful. You will not allow anyone to mislead you if you are knowledgeable.
If you read, you will know what to do when darkness crosses your path. Do you
love books?
The enemy rules the ignorant
…if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are
lost:
In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which
believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image
of God, should shine unto them.
2
Corinthians 4:3-4 KJV
One reason people cannot
respond to the gospel is because of ignorance. As stated in the Holy
Scriptures, the god of this world (Satan) has blinded people's minds. The devil
blinds people’s minds because it does not want them to believe and accept the gospel
of our Savior and Lord Christ Jesus.
The devil is “smart.” It
knows the power of the mind, so it blinds people’s minds. Satan knows a
transformed mind is unconquerable and untouchable. The devil does not disable
the legs and hands of people.
Neither does it (the
devil) blind the "eyes" of the unbelievers. The devil knows that a disabled and blind
man can still hear the gospel and believe. Therefore, it blinds (dominates) the
mind. The devil knows that a conquered mind is a lifetime prisoner.
- Once the enemy captures your mind, you are a slave.
- Once the devil conquers your mind, you are his worker.
- Once the enemy conquers your mind, you are defeated.
- Once the devil dominates your mind, you live in deception.
If the devil conquers
your mind, you’ve lost the battle. This is one reason to fill your mind with
resourceful and spiritual knowledge. Desire the Word of God (the
Holy Bible) and books connected to the Word.
When the Word enters you,
it destroys the enemy's seeds (meditate on 2 Corinthians 10:3-5, Hebrews 4:12, Jeremiah
23:9, Romans 12:1-2). If you want the Holy Spirit to control your body and
soul, fill it with the Word.
To conquer your entire
body, fill the mind with resourceful information. The mind controls the legs,
eyes, mouth, and every organ of the body. It is the mind that will tell you what
to do. The mind tells you what to eat.
It is the mind that tells
you who to marry. The mind tells you where to travel. Our mind tells us where
to work and fellowship. Before the Holy Spirit influences us, he needs our minds.
The devil cannot control you without you giving it access to your mind.
This is one reason the
devil desires your mind. Without your mind, it cannot progress. Failure to fill
your mind with resourceful and spiritual knowledge will open the portal for
evil spirits and wicked people to control you. Allowing the words of evil
people will corrupt your good manners.
Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.
1 Corinthians 15:33 KJV
What you hear can corrupt
or deliver you. What you read can corrupt or build you. The videos you watch
can corrupt or upgrade you. The songs you listen to can corrupt or deliver you.
The friend who speaks into your life can corrupt and educate you.
Do you want to know why? They
speak to your mind! When you receive information, your subconscious mind stores
it. The information you receive programs you unconsciously. The more you keep
hearing specific information, it controls your decision.
This is one reason you must desire resourceful and spiritual knowledge. Read books and articles that can make you think properly. Read resourceful materials to reprogram your corrupt mind. Listen to resourceful and spiritual materials. You will grow in wisdom.
- Are you a lover of books?
- Do you read resourceful materials?
- Do you listen to resourceful materials?
- Do you watch resourceful videos?
The mind is an unstoppable weapon
And the LORD came down to see the city and the tower, which the
children of men builded.
And the LORD said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all
one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained
from them, which they have imagined to do.
Genesis 11:5-6 KJV
If you read the above
Holy Scriptures, you will realize God made a profound statement. He said, “And now nothing will be
restrained from them, which they have imagined to do.” God said, “he
will not stop” humankind from doing what they have imagined to do.
That’s a powerful
statement! Our imagination can make us unstoppable! Nobody can stop you from
what you imagined doing! “Not even God!” Our imagination begins with our
mindset. Great minds have great imaginations.
Resourceful and spiritual
books can increase your imagination. God knew the people of Babel were
unstoppable because of their unity and imagination. However, since God is above
creation, he dispersed them.
If God states that we
become unstoppable with our imagination. What stops you from filling your mind
with resourceful information? If you want to think or imagine big, read great
books. The information you acquire will program your mind to think big.
Your great
(knowledgeable) mind will generate great imagination, making you unstoppable.
You can imagine great things. However, if you don’t have the tools
(information) to fulfill that imagination (vision and plans), that imagination
will be useless.
Like a man with a great
desire (imagination) to travel to space. If that man does not have the tools
(knowledge) to travel to space, his imagination (vision) will not come to pass.
For your imagination to come to pass, you need adequate information (knowledge)
to make it happen.
You can dream (imagine)
of building churches, software, libraries, electronic devices, and businesses worldwide.
However, they will fail if you don’t have the knowledge to process the
imagination.
Like a computer, it needs
memory to process data. The larger the memory, the faster the data gets
processed. If the computer has a large storage device, it can store great information.
That information will yield better results.
In the same way, you need
a large storage device and memory to process your data. If you want great
imagination, acquire great information. If you're going to fulfill your vision
(imagination), obtain the required information (knowledge).
God said, “he will not
stop” the people of Babel because of their imagination (mindset) and knowledge (unity).
Imagination without knowledge equals failure. Limited knowledge will produce
small imagination.
You need adequate information
to produce quality results. Read if you don’t want your imagination (plans,
dreams, desires, and vision) to stand still. The people of Babel became
unstoppable because their imagination had the required information (wisdom).
Their unity (wisdom) solidified
their imagination. If they were not united, their imagination could have failed.
Since God is a master planner, he disunited them. One reason God dispersed them
was that their imagination was corrupt.
It is not enough to have a
great imagination. You need the right information (knowledge) to build a legal
imagination. What knowledge is holding your imagination? If you don’t have
adequate knowledge, you will build your house on sand.
However, your resourceful
and spiritual knowledge will build great imaginations (dreams, visions, and
plans) on an unbreakable rock. Where is your foundation (knowledge)? Search for
Christ Jesus because true knowledge rest in Him (the
Word and the Holy Spirit).
Books reveal secrets
In the first year of his reign I Daniel understood by books the number
of the years, whereof the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah the prophet, that
he would accomplish seventy years in the desolations of Jerusalem.
Daniel 9:2 KJV
Daniel was a prophet of
God. However, he was an avid reader. Prophet Daniel was a bookworm. Through
books, Daniel discovered the pain of the Jews. Daniel discovered in the letters
of Jeremiah that the people of Jerusalem needed the hand of God.
Daniel fasted and prayed
for the Israelites because He discovered the slavery of the people in Jerusalem
in the book of Jeremiah. What would have happened if Daniel was not a reader?
What would have happened if Daniel did not read the books of the prophets?
Probably, the Israelites
would have lived in depression and captivity for decades. As a prophet of God,
leader, and head of an organization, you must be an avid reader. Through books,
you can discover a secret.
That secret can bring
deliverance to the church, family, and organization. If you read the book of
Revelation, you will understand that Christ Jesus commanded Apostle John to
write the visions. Christ Jesus knew we would need the revelations and
prophecies.
If Apostle John had failed
to write the visions, we would not have known God's plans. Prophet Daniel did
not pride himself because He could see visions. He read books. Daniel read the
letters of the prophets.
He discovered the slavery
of the Israelites. After discovering the condition of the Israelites, he
fasted, waited on the Lord, and cried unto the Lord for divine mercies. God
could have revealed the prophecies of Jeremiah to Daniel.
However, he revealed it
to Daniel through books. What stops you from reading? The Holy Spirit has inspired
several people to write books and articles. By reading those materials, you can
discover the plans of God for your life and those connected to you. You will
discover the problems (challenges) limiting your glory and darkness hovering
over your community through books. Are you a voracious reader?
Your mind shapes your identity
For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he…
Proverbs 23:7 KJV
Your mind shapes your
personality. How you perceive yourself will determine the response people give
you. If you have a bad image of yourself, people will have a bad mindset about
you. However, if you value yourself, people will value you. (Some people will
still despise you despite your value).
Note that I am not
describing proud people who value themselves and devalue others. I am
describing people who respect themselves and also respect others. If you want a
proper identity, shape your mindset with valuable books.
The more you read
valuable books and put the principles into practice, your lifestyle changes. As
stated in the Holy Scriptures, “As a man
thinks in his heart, so is he.” If you want to break out from the defective
cultural mindset and destructive philosophies, read resourceful and
spiritual books and apply the principles.
If animals can change
through training (education), why can’t human beings? Our mind is not static.
It is flexible. Our minds can change. It is only abnormal and possessed people who
cannot change for the better.
Our minds can adapt to
new training. Reading books can restructure your negative mindset. Your
identity will change for the better when you fill your mind with resourceful
and spiritual books. Are you a casual reader or a dedicated reader?
I will write in detail on
the supremacy of knowledge and its effect on our lives in the next article. Kindly
