The validity of earthly treasures
In my previous article, I
unveiled some revelations about treasures. Treasures are unique pearls people cherish
with all their hearts. You don’t give a precious asset to a careless person
because he will mishandle it.
Treasures come to us in
several ways. It doesn’t matter how precious an earthly treasure is; it will
expire. What people treasured in the seventeenth century is obsolete in our
generation. For example, people in the twentieth century cherished the post
office because they could send a message to a loved one in another place
without their presence.
However, e-mails and
social media have made sending messages to loved ones easy in the twenty-first
century. Irrespective of the person’s location, you can send a message to a
loved one in a twinkle of an eye.
If you had a mobile phone
in the twentieth century, people saw you as rich (a treasure). However, mobile
phones have become common in our century. As the world advances, the things we
treasure become common.
A time will come the
internet will be odd. The incoming generation will have a better and faster way
of doing things. Who thought we could speak to one another face-to-face in
different countries?
Who thought we could
transact business in any country without being in that territory? Who thought
we could travel in the air, under the earth, underwater, and in space? However,
technology has made it easy for people to travel underwater, under the ground,
and in the air.
Today, anyone can do
almost anything with their electronic device. Some people treasure jet planes,
yachts, trains, airplanes, cars, bicycles, motorbikes, television, and
computers. However, it has become common in our century.
This should tell you that
the treasures of this world have an expiry date. Today paper money and coins have
become obsolete. You don’t necessarily need physical cash to transact business.
People can transact business with their electronic devices.
You can order anything
with your electronic device if you have digital cash. In our century, several people
no more treasure natural resources such as gold, diamond, oil, manganese, and
bauxite.
Data is the treasure of
the day. You can make money with extensive data on people, places, and
industries. Physical marketing is gradually fading because of the advancement
in technology. Soon, robots (artificial intelligence machines) will take over
numerous works.
The educational degree
you are pursuing is nothing in the eyes of robots because they can do a better
job. Your certificate in marketing, accounting, human resource, and
administration is nothing in the eyes of robots because they have enough data
to work with.
The accounting,
marketing, banking, and customer service jobs are gradually fading. Your
certificate is becoming odd because machines can do a better job. Soon, drivers
will become odd because self-driving cars are in town.
You don’t necessarily need
someone to teach you to drive because automatic cars are in town. As the day
passes, new and better cars arrive. The vehicle you treasure with all your life
will become odd because better ones are coming.
The electronic device you
treasure with all your heart will become obsolete because better ones are
coming. The house you adore with all your heart will become obsolete because
better ones are coming.
The books you treasure
will become odd because better ones are coming. Either the author updates the
book, or it becomes irrelevant. However, books with their foundation in the
Word (the Holy Bible) will withstand life's storms.
Lecturers keep revising
and updating their books in schools because it needs changes. Today, diesel
cars are fading. Solar and electrical energy cars are in town. Mobile phones
with better charging systems and high technological advancement are in town.
In the twentieth century,
a man with a computer with a one-gigabyte hard disk or memory was seen as a superhero
(treasure). However, technology has changed everything. Today, people have
computers with 1 Terabyte hard disk.
A time will come one terabyte
of hard disks will become obsolete. Suppose you have a computer or phone with a
low graphic cards, a hard disk, and memory. You cannot play the latest
games and use specific applications.
My laptop cannot play
most games today because of low video graphic cards, memory, and hard disk.
Although I hardly play computer games, once in a while, I play soccer on my
machine. So, what is my point here?
What you treasure today
will become irrelevant tomorrow. This should tell you that the treasures of
this world will pass away or become irrelevant in the future. It doesn’t matter
how rich you are; you will not leave this world with your money, cars,
business, and assets.
Donating to this ministry would help because it is a kingdom
treasure. I will write about giving, so keep reading. Acquiring earthly assets
isn’t evil because Abraham, Job, Solomon, and Christ Jesus’ disciples were
wealthy.
Christ Jesus became poor
so we can become rich (see 2 Corinthians 8:9). However, you lose if you have
worldly assets and ignore the kingdom treasures. Possessing earthly treasures
and, at the same time, accumulating kingdom treasures is the best. After all,
we shall leave the worldly treasures.
For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose
his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?
Matthew 16:26 KJV
Earthly riches are not
evil. It is how you acquired them and how you use them that makes them evil. If
you are using your earthly treasures to build God’s kingdom, that’s a blessing!
However, if you are using the world's treasures to promote ungodly things, it
becomes evil.
Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so,
I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive
you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.
John 14:1-4 KJV
Christ Jesus promised us
that there are mansions in heaven. Jesus did not say houses. Our Lord and
Savior Christ Jesus said many mansions. This means numerous mansions are in
heaven. Jesus said he is preparing one for us.
Why don’t you seek after
the mansions in heaven? It would be a great disaster if you have earthly
treasures, yet you don’t have any treasure in heaven. No one can destroy or
steal your treasures in heaven!
Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust
doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:
But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor
rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:
For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
Matthew 6:19-21 KJV
Our Lord and Savior
Christ Jesus is not saying we shouldn’t get earthly treasures. He is saying
that we shouldn’t accumulate treasures for ourselves only. However, we must set
up treasures that will benefit others.
We must build treasures
that will bring glory to God. For instance, giving funds to build a glorious or
ultra-modern church for a ministry is a treasure. That treasure is not for
yourself. Note the word of Christ Jesus, “LAY
NOT UP FOR YOURSELVES treasures upon earth.”
I have capitalized the
word “LAY NOT UP FOR YOURSELVES.” Accumulating
treasures for yourselves is the problem. Secondly, animals can destroy earthly
treasures you store for yourself. Some people have built large houses and businesses.
However, no one is living
in those houses. Those houses, businesses, mansions, and properties have become
animals' habitation because they built them for themselves. Jesus stated that
thieves can even break in to steal earthly treasures.
Haven’t you read and seen
criminals breaking into banks, businesses, and properties to steal? This should
tell you that you cannot put all your trust in earthly treasures. Earthly
treasures are good.
However, they are
temporal. If you are building an earthly asset, let people benefit from it. Let
those treasures have eternal value. Build the kingdom of God. If you lay up
treasures for yourself in this world, you will focus on those things and reject
Christ Jesus (the church).
You can backslide if you
place all your faith in earthly things. Your love for God and things of God
will grow cold if you build treasures for yourself only. The devil can use the
treasures you have acquired for yourself to manipulate you and those connected
to you.
It is time to concentrate
on the kingdom's treasures. As stated, earthly treasures are not evil. It
becomes sinful when you build it for yourself only. How you acquire the earthly
treasure and how you use it can make it evil or good. However, the kingdom's
treasures are eternal. No one can steal them from you!
Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always
abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not
in vain in the Lord.
1 Corinthians 15:58 KJV
Your labor in the Lord
will not be in vain if you do it from your heart. Your labor in the Lord will
not be in vain if you do it by the Holy Spirit's commands. There are rewards
(treasures) for your good works.
Do it from your heart,
and you will receive the kingdom's treasures. Below are ten ways to acquire the
kingdom's treasures. Kindly share the link to this article so others can grow
in wisdom and power.
Ten ways to acquire heavenly treasures
1. Effective Evangelism
One of the ways to
acquire kingdom treasures is to be a dedicated soul winner. I love evangelism
because it’s my calling and passion. If I can remember, I started evangelism in
Junior High School.
As I am writing this
article, I am still in the business of evangelism. Winning souls into God’s
kingdom is a divine seed. The more you win and establish souls in the kingdom
of God, your treasures in heaven accumulates.
Like an investor, he
receives dividends (interest) on his shares. A man who buys treasury bills
accumulates funds. If he invests one million Ghana cedis, he will receive
additional three hundred Ghana cedis as interest annually (assuming the
interest rate is 30%).
That is how evangelism
(soul-winning) works. More souls attract higher treasures in heaven (new
heaven). Delivering a soul from the prison of hell through evangelism is one of
the most outstanding seeds you can sow in heaven.
God desires that sinners
repent and follow the Holy Spirit. Preaching the good news of Christ Jesus can
deliver people from eternal doom (destruction). Preach Christ Jesus. Let people
know Christ Jesus through your lifestyle.
Let people know what
Jesus has done for you. The Holy Spirit will convict sinners when you preach
and teach the Word. They will turn to Christ Jesus. If you are in a college,
study ahead. Gather the students and teach them the courses.
During the lecture,
preach the Word (Christ Jesus) to them. Don’t let the devil bombard you with
evil thoughts. Sometimes you may feel useless while doing evangelism. Some people
may abuse you in the course of evangelism.
Become a “fool” for
Christ Jesus. Preach the Word with passion and wisdom. There are several ways
of doing evangelism. Freely download and read my books on my blog, forty effective evangelism strategies; all things work together for good to them that love God, and a soul is a soul
for more profound revelations.
Remember, evangelism
without soul-winning is incomplete. After preaching the Word, let them pray the
prayer of salvation to affirm their deliverance. If you follow this master
key, your treasure in heaven will be great.
2. Follow up and encourage the souls
People need encouragement
and love. After winning souls into the kingdom of God, collect their contact
addresses. Call and encourage them. Occasionally send them messages if they are
far from you.
Occasionally visit them
if they are close to you or within your neighborhood. However, apply wisdom.
Don’t visit a lady alone in her room if you are a man. If you are a woman, don’t
visit a male alone in his room.
Encourage people in an
open area. I mean places people can easily see both of you. The Lord has
recently told me to visit people in prisons and deprived areas. However, inadequate
resources are limiting me.
If you have the
resources, visit hospitals, prisons, and villages. Encourage them from your
heart. Empower them with the promises of the Word. You will be surprised that
people desperately need love and encouragement. Your treasures in heaven
increase when you follow up on souls and build them in the Lord.
3. Fasting and prayers
Fasting and prayers can
sometimes be burdensome. However, with God’s grace, we can do it. Earnestly
praying for people builds our treasures in heaven. When we fast and pray for
people from our hearts, the angels get building materials to furnish our
mansions. It is time to engage in fasting and prayers. If you cannot fast
consistently, intercede. Pray more in the Spirit. The more you intercede
earnestly and consistently, the greater your treasures in heaven (the new
earth).
4. Offerings and Tithes
Giving from your heart to
build God’s kingdom is one of the most remarkable ways to acquire divine
treasures. When you pay your tithes, God opens the door of blessings. When you
donate to ministries and servants of God doing the kingdom work, the angels of
God expand your mansion (treasures).
It is time to donate to God’s kingdom.
Give from your heart. Pay your tithe from your heart. Do it with faith and joy.
When you give your best to the Lord and his servants, your treasures will be
greater (meditate on Luke 6:38, Malachi 3:10-12).
5. Financial assistance to people in need
This is similar to
offerings and tithes. However, there is a slight difference. Giving to needy
people, especially widows, those in orphanages, prisons, hospitals, and
deprived areas, can boost your divine treasure. When you give to people
experiencing poverty, the angels of God will get adequate materials to build
your treasure (meditate on Matthew 6:4-6).
6. Overcoming temptations and trials
Do you know that
temptations are channels of blessings? Temptations come in three ways. The devil
can tempt you. You can tempt yourself. God can try you. God’s trial may be
categorized as temptation.
However, it is not a temptation.
If you overcome temptation and trials, you receive a treasure. Like Abraham, he
passed the test when God tried him with Isaac. Joseph passed the test when he refused
Potiphar’s wife's offer (temptation).
Joseph could have lost
his glory if he had failed the test of Potiphar’s wife. Job, for instance,
passed the devil's test and received treasures. If you can pass the test and temptations
of life, God will release your treasures. Pass the test of temptations. Your
treasures in heaven will increase.
7. Holiness lifestyle
Living in holiness is oneof the hidden treasures in God's Kingdom. You enter the realm of holiness when you exclude
yourself from the world's corruption and avail yourself as a living sacrifice
unto God and the church.
Departing from willful
sin and living in the light of the Word opens doors of blessings (treasures). You
might not see the blessings. However, it’s real. If you love righteousness and
hate iniquity, the Holy Spirit sows’ blessings in your life (meditate on Hebrews
1:9).
The angels of God will
encamp around you when you live in fear of the Lord (see Psalm 34:7). For more
profound revelations, freely download and read my book on m blog on my blog, the mysteries of fear, all things work together for good, how to become a perfect Christian, and a

evangelism, offering, tithes, giving the poor, fasting and prayers, righteousness,
holiness, follow-up on souls, intercession, financial assistance, and purity of
life are the pathway to eternal treasures. I will write in detail in the next
