Grieve not the Holy Spirit of God (21 Ways) – 2
The Heart of the Holy Spirit
Have you ever wondered
why we call the Spirit of God Holy? You might not have noticed the word holy
before the word Spirit. The Spirit of God is Holy. That is why we call Him the Holy
Spirit.
Again, the Holy Spirit is
Holy. He does not identify with unholy things. Wherever you see rampant evil
activities, conclude that the Holy Spirit is absent in that place. There are
many spirits in the world.
Some pretend to be holy.
However, these spirits are not holy. We can call them “good” spirits. However,
the Holy Spirit's holiness is pure. The holiness (purity) of the Holy Spirit is
white as the snow.
The holiness of the Holy
Spirit shines brighter than the sun. When the Holy Spirit manifests, His
holiness destroys anything with an iota of evil. The Holy Spirit initiated war
in the beginning (meditate on Genesis 1).
War did not break out
when darkness (sin) clashed with the Heavenly Father and Christ Jesus. However,
when darkness crossed the path of the Holy Spirit, war broke out in Heaven. This
is one reason evil cannot reign in Heaven.
In the highest Heaven,
sin has no place because of the Holy Spirit. The light emanating from the Holy
Spirit is brighter than any light in and outside this world. Without the Holy
Spirit, holiness will cease to exist.
The Holy Spirit reveals
the nature of the Godhead (the Trinity). This is one reason the seraphims
sing holy holy holy unto God Almighty. Without the presence of the Holy Spirit,
the sun cannot stand.
The moon, stars, sun,
water bodies, trees, and every living creature of God receives its strength
from the Holy Spirit. Anything that lives outside the realm of the Holy Spirit
is dead. This is one reason darkness dominates the Satanic kingdom.
However, in Heaven, the
unquenchable light reigns. Heaven and all their spirits receive their energy
from the Holy Spirit. The tress produces fruits because of the energy of the
Holy Spirit. The water bodies do not dry up because of the Holy Spirit's
energy.
Humankind lives at the
energy of the Holy Spirit. This is one reason the body dies when the energy of
the Holy Spirit departs (meditate on Genesis 2:7). Without the Holy Spirit's
energy, man's soul cannot connect with the body.
Our spirit receives power
(life) from the Holy Spirit. When our spirit receives energy from the Holy
Spirit, our spirit transfers the energy to the senses of the soul and the body,
making us connect with the holy spiritual forces.
This is one reason we can
connect with the spiritual realm while operating on the earth. However, if a
man’s spirit has no connection with the Holy Spirit, the desires of the soul
and lustful desires of the body take charge.
This is one reason the
unbelievers love sin. They enjoy the pleasure of sin because their spirit has
no connection with the Holy Spirit. They have the spirit of the world. The
things of the Spirit look foolish to people whose spirits are not connected to
the Holy Spirit because their spirit is blind and dead.
This is one reason some
people oppose things of God. They do that because the Holy Spirit has no place
in them (meditate on 1 Corinthians 2:12-14, Galatians 5:16-17 and get my book, How to Walk and
Live in the Spirit, for more profound
revelation). The book is free on my blog.
People without the Holy
Spirit often justify sin because their conscience is dead. However, people
whose spirit is connected with the Holy Spirit understand God's ways. They give
their heart, resources, and strength to support the things of God because the
energy of the Holy Spirit flows within them.
Some people, too, have
surrendered their souls and body to evil spirits. Because of that, they follow
the instructions of the devil and his minions. There are many ways to detect
whether the Holy Spirit or the devil is working with a vessel.
I encourage you to
download and read my book, the Currencies
of the Holy Spirit, for a more
profound revelation. The book is free on my blog. In my previous article, I shared seven ways we grieve the
Holy Spirit. Kindly check the previous article for a more profound revelation.
Knowing what grieves the
Holy Spirit helps us understand how to walk and live with the Holy Spirit. In other
words, we will know which bottom not to press to grieve the Holy Spirit. Grieving
the Holy Spirit separates us from His influence.
For instance, if you know
that playing loud music grieves your loved ones, you will not play loud music.
In this way, you will not create an environment that creates conflict in the
surroundings.
Sometimes, we do some
things unconsciously because it has become part of us. We often do certain
things because we see nothing wrong with that. Maybe you don’t like bathing in
the evening.
You might think it
doesn’t hurt anyone. However, your loved one might hate it. Your loved one may
not complain. However, it grieves (hurts) him. If you knew that ignoring
evening baths hurt your loved one, you would not do it in the first place.
This is one reason I am
sharing how we hurt the Holy Spirit. As stated in the previous article, people
often don’t see the Holy Spirit with their physical eyes. They are blind to the
feelings of the Holy Spirit because of their weak spirit.
If you are sensitive to
the Holy Spirit, you will know how and when the Holy Spirit reacts. Just as we
have natural senses, our spirit also has senses. Your spiritual senses might be
weak or dead; therefore, you cannot detect the Holy Spirit's grievance.
This is one reason I am
sharing some attitudes that grieve the Holy Spirit. Knowing these truths will
enhance your walk with the Holy Spirit. I encourage you to download and read my series
of books for more profound revelation about the Holy Spirit. The books are free on my blog. Kindly share the link to this article so others can receive the
knowledge that brings deliverance. Below are seven ways we grieve the Holy
Spirit.
Seven ways we grieve the Holy Spirit
1. Position minded grieves the Holy Spirit
Do you care for the flock
as a church and spiritual leader? The Church is like a flock of Sheep. The
shepherd (pastor) cares for the sheep (church members). The shepherd does not
abuse the Sheep.
However, he protects
them. Are you in the Church because of your position? The Holy Spirit wants us to
take care of the Sheep. He wants us to visit the Sheep. The Holy Spirit wants us
to pray for the sheep.
He wants us to encourage
the Sheep and feed them the Word of God (the Holy Bible). If you are in the
Church because of position, think twice because the Holy Spirit is grieving. The
Holy Spirit is more concerned about your care for the Church.
Analyze a flock of Sheep.
You will observe that they are vulnerable. Wicked people and hostile animals can
harm and kill them! God has made you the shepherd so you can protect them. The
Holy Spirit is grieving if you are not covering the Sheep with prayers and
visitation.
The Holy Spirit is
grieving if you are not feeding the Sheep with the pure Word. The Holy Spirit
is grieving if you are pastoring the Church because of what you can get from
them. Repent and support the sheep from your heart because the Holy Spirit
cares.
2. Wrong appointment grieve the Holy Spirit
Most churches operate
like businesses because we have lost the leadership of the Holy Spirit. We
don’t lead the Church with the principles of the world. We lead the Church with the principles of the Word. We use the Holy
Scriptures as our guide (meditate on 2 Timothy 3:16-17).
Today, most pastors
appoint carnal people into vital leadership position in Churches. Selecting carnal
people to lead the Church is dangerous. Doing that will open the portal for
unclean spirits to control the Church.
Appointing people without
relationship and fellowship with the Holy Spirit into vital leadership
positions harms the Church. People without knowledge of the Word (the Holy
Bible) have no place in Church leadership.
It would be best to have
loyal people with a strong relationship with the Holy Spirit to lead the Church.
People who love Christ Jesus, the Holy Spirit, the flock, and the Word from
their hearts are the ones to lead the Church.
However, appointing
carnal people to lead Churches because they have money and temporal things
grieves the Holy Spirit. Are you appointing unspiritual (carnal) vessels into
vital leadership positions?
Think about the Sheep! Are
appointing carnal people to lead the Church? The Holy Spirit grieves when you
delegate authority to sensual people with no time for the Holy Spirit, the Holy
Bible, the flock, and Christ Jesus.
3. Possessing a controlling spirit grieves the Holy Spirit
The community of the Holy
Spirit is love. The Holy Spirit does not force people to do His will. We have
our free will. We are not like robots programmed to do specific jobs. We are
humans with desires, hopes, and philosophies.
Anytime we force people
to do something out of their will, we grieve the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit
leads with love. He does not lead with pressure, fear, and position. If you are
the type that forces people to do something without their agreement, you grieve
the Holy Spirit.
One thing I didn’t know while
leading students at the tertiary institution was the love of the Holy Spirit. I
started a Church with the students at the University. However, I used strict
authority to lead them.
As I grew in the Lord, I
learned that I must lead the Church with the love of Christ Jesus. Using fear,
curses, position, and power so people will follow your instruction isn’t the
way of the Holy Spirit.
It’s witchcraft! I
encourage you to download and read my book, 77
Uncommon Mysteries Behind Witchcraft,
for more profound revelation. Naturally, some people have a controlling
(Choleric) temperament.
However, if the Holy
Spirit lives in you, He will help you with that controlling nature
(personality). Do not control people like toys because of your position, power,
money, fame, and status.
Lead with the love of Christ
Jesus. The world has its own system of leadership. However, when it comes to
the Church, we operate in the love of Christ Jesus. Are you dominating people
with fear, curses, anger, and worldly systems? Repent because the Holy Spirit
is grieving.
4. Dark psychology grieves the Holy Spirit
Do you know that
deception grieves the Holy Spirit? You might be ignorant that pretense saddens
the Holy Spirit. As humans, we sometimes become angry when we find that the
people around us are pretending.
If we can become angry
because of pretense, how much is the Holy Spirit? Some people study psychology
to help humankind. However, some people study psychology to manipulate others. Dark
psychology uses mind games, tricks, deception, and the weakness of people to
dominate others.
Some people know how to
play with people’s emotions and minds. They do that to make people surrender
their hearts to them. After getting their heart, they manipulate the people. Some
people use dark psychology to steal people’s assets and hard-earned money.
Some people, too, act as
if they support you. By the time you come to your senses, they’ve already taken
advantage. I encourage you to download and read my book, the 40 Types of
People and How to Live with Them,
for more profound revelation.
The book is free on my
blog. Using seduction, false friendliness, false weakness, fear, abusive words,
anger, money, fame, fake news, and power to control others is a dark
psychological trick. Some people, too, use lies, gossip, slander, confusion,
and conflict to control others.
Giving false prophecies
is another way of manipulation. Most often, it’s difficult to detect people who
use dark psychology. However, we can detect manipulators with the gift of
discernment and wisdom. If you play mind games to control others, stop it
because it grieves the Holy Spirit.
5. Ungodly segregation and segmentation grieves the Holy Spirit
God created us (human
beings) in His image and likeness. Whether the person is an African, American,
European, Asian, or Australian, that vessel has the image of God. Some people
relate with you based on your status.
For instance, some people
do not mingle with poor people. They only connect with rich people. Some people,
too, are racists. They have no time for people outside their tribes. If you fall
under this category, the Holy Spirit is grieving.
The Holy Spirit is not
happy with you for your ungodly segmentation and segregation. There is no way a
Spirit-filled vessel will discriminate. However, people who have no dealing
with the Holy Spirit devalue the creation of God.
The Holy Spirit sees
human beings as souls. This is one reason God sacrificed Christ Jesus for our
sins. We are too precious to the extent that Christ Jesus gave us His life so
we can reconcile with the Heavenly Father and Holy Spirit.
Stop abusing innocent animals
because it grieves the Holy Spirit. If you are a racist, repent because you
grieve the Holy Spirit. Value human beings and innocent animals. Don’t look
down or ignore people because they have not reached your status.
Both of you are alive because of the Holy Spirit's energy. If the Holy Spirit decides to take His breath (life), you will become a corpse.
I encourage you to download and read
my book, the
Perfect Wisdom, for more wisdom keys. The
book is free on my blog. Repent and value God’s creation because we represent
God on earth. Value people from your heart; the Holy Spirit will draw closer to
you.
6. Total carnality grieves the Holy Spirit
Another seed that grieves
the Holy Spirit is witchcraft. Do you know that carnality is a subset of
witchcraft? I encourage you to download and read my book,
77 Uncommon Mysteries about Witchcraft,
for more profound revelation.
You can request a free copy using this link. Immorality, rebelling against godly authorities,
stealing, shutting doors to people in need, and using profane words grieves the
Holy Spirit. Some people’s mouths are full of curses and negative words. If you
are that type, repent because it grieves the Holy Spirit.
7. Selfishness grieves the Holy Spirit
Naturally, a vessel
without the Holy Spirit only thinks about Himself. Selfish people don’t think
about the welfare of others. They only think about their needs and wants. If
you only think about yourself without considering others, the Holy Spirit is unhappy
with you.
Consider others in your
decisions. When you think about others and search for ways to help them, you
become a friend of the Holy Spirit. However, you sadden the Holy Spirit if it’s
only about your interest.
Maybe you have enough
money and resources to help others. However, you have closed your eyes and ears
to those who need your help. Doing that can make the Holy Spirit grieve. The
Holy Spirit can close your gates of blessings because of your selfishness and self-interest.
Analyze selfish people. You
will see that they don’t have peace. Hardly will you see selfish people doing extraordinary
things that benefit the Church, business, organization, and God’s creation.
The Holy Spirit holds His
gifts from selfish people because they will use them for their own benefit. Are
you interested in your growth without the consideration of others? Think twice
because the Holy Spirit does not condone selfish people. I will continue in the
next article. Kindly share the link to this article so others can
receive the knowledge that brings deliverance.
