What to do When Losing Faith in God (20 Uncommon Keys) – 2
The necessity of faith
In the previous article, I
explained faith and shared some experiences in the prayer camp. I also
gave some notable personalities who lost faith in their walk with God. Furthermore,
I gave seven profound keys you can employ when losing faith.
In this article, I dive
deeper. Faith is a necessity in our journey of life. Almost everything we do in
life demands faith. Talk about the food we buy outside the home. We don’t know
who prepared it.
We don’t know whether the
person has poisoned the food or not. We don’t know if the person preparing the
food is infected with strange diseases. However, we consume those foods by
faith. Even when we go to bed, we plan for the next day. That’s faith because we
believe we will rise the next day (I hope you know people die while asleep).
We need faith to transact
business. We don’t know the person we transact business with. However, we
believe that the person will be fair. Talk of technology. Without faith, we cannot
transact business globally.
Talk about the people we
choose as marriage partners. We don’t know them. However, we believe them.
That’s faith. Talk about the people we follow as mentors, leaders, and spiritual
guides. If you don’t have faith, you will not choose them because you don’t know
them.
As stated, life is a seed
of faith. If you don’t have faith, you cannot do anything. We need natural
faith to become the vessels God has made us. What do you think will make a
person live with an animal?
Animals such as lions,
tigers, dogs, and cats can kill human beings. However, we train and make them
friends. That’s natural faith. It is said that a man with hope can last for a season.
However, a man without hope is a living dead.
We derive hope from
faith. Therefore, a man without faith does not have hope. Faith gives substance
to our hope. For instance, I have the hope that I will make it to Heaven when
Christ Jesus comes or when I die.
Maybe I will ascend to
Heaven like Enoch. Because of my hope (faith), I have surrendered my life to
Christ Jesus. I don’t only want to make it to Heaven. I also want to get
treasures in Heaven (the new earth)!
Because of this reason, I
work wholeheartedly in the Kingdom of God. I occasionally win souls for Christ
Jesus. I intercede and sacrifice my time, money, and energy to write books and
articles that draw people to God (the Holy Spirit).
By God’s grace, I do many
things to increase my treasures in Heaven (the new earth). Although I have not
physically seen my treasures in Heaven, I believe Christ Jesus is preparing my
mansion! Faith does a lot in our lives. Before sharing with you what to do when
losing faith, let me share six dangers of losing faith. Knowing these truths
will help you know the power of faith.
Six dangers of losing faith
1. You limit God Almighty
And when he was come into his own country, he taught them in their
synagogue, insomuch that they were astonished, and said, Whence hath this man
this wisdom, and these mighty works?
Is not this the carpenter's son? is not his mother called Mary? and his
brethren, James, and Joses, and Simon, and Judas?
And his sisters, are they not all with us? Whence then hath this man
all these things?
And they were offended in him. But Jesus said unto them, A prophet is
not without honour, save in his own country, and in his own house.
And he (Christ Jesus) did not many mighty works there because of
their unbelief.
Matthew 13:54-58 KJV (Christ Jesus)
Christ Jesus (God
Almighty) could not do much in Nazareth because of their lack of faith. Imagine
Christ Jesus, the King of Kings and Lord of Lords, failing to do miracles
because of the people's faithlessness.
This should tell you
about the danger of unbelief. Anytime we walk and live in unbelief, we limit
the works of God (the Holy Spirit) in our lives. Analyze the miracles of Christ
Jesus recorded in the Holy Scriptures.
Faith activated the
miracles. In some cases, Christ Jesus will ask for the person desiring miracles.
Do you have faith? This should make you understand the power of faith. Faith is
one of the spiritual currencies.
I encourage you to
download and read my book, 77 Currencies of the Spiritual World, for more
profound revelations. The book is free on my blog and youtube channel.
If you are going to touch the heart of God, faith is mandatory (meditate on
Hebrews 11:6).
Anytime you walk and live
in faithlessness, the Holy Spirit becomes “weak” in the situation. The Heavenly
Father, Christ Jesus, and the Holy Spirit need your faith. When the Trinity sees
your lack of faith, they will not draw closer.
Remember, the enemy of
faith is doubt. Doubt is the twin brother of fear. So, whenever you live
outside the realm of faith, you become helpless in the sight of the Holy Spirit
(meditate on Matthew 13:58 and Hebrews 11:6 for more profound revelations).
2. It affects others
Do you remember my case
in the previous article? My roommate started losing his faith because I
started losing faith! David’s men started losing faith because David began
losing faith when the enemy captured the entire family.
You might not know.
However, your unbelief affects those in your circles. Anytime you walk and live
in unbelief, you make those weak in the Lord and baby Christians vulnerable. Some
people depend on your faith. The moment you start losing faith, they also start
losing faith. Think about the faith of others when tempted to walk and live in
unbelief.
3. You can backslide
Another thing I have
realized about faithlessness is that it can make us deviate from the path of
the Holy Spirit. Analyze the unbelievers. They have a common trait. Almost all
of them don’t have faith in the Holy Spirit!
Because of their
unbelief, they don’t care about their actions and words. Unbelief upgrades you to
an unrepentant unbeliever. Unbelief makes you a god of yourself because you
believe no God has power over you.
People who lack faith in
God do as they please. They decide what is evil and good because of their
darkness (unbelief). This is one reason some people advocate lesbianism, gay,
bestiality, transgender or transexual, abortion, and grave evils.
Their lack of faith in
God (Christ Jesus) and the Holy Bible has made their philosophies dark. Think
twice. Anytime you decide to walk and live in unbelief, understand that you are
threading in a dangerous zone (meditate on Proverbs 14:12).
4. You fall into the enemy’s trap
The enemy fears people
who have faith in Christ Jesus. However, the moment you forsake Christ Jesus
and live in unbelief, you become a prisoner in the enemy’s kingdom. Analyze
harlots, womanizers, serial killers, criminals, and wicked vessels.
They have lost faith in Christ
Jesus, the Holy Spirit, and the Holy Bible. Because of their unbelief, evil
spirits use them to glorify Satan. Most harlots, womanizers, witches, wizards,
serial killers, criminals, and grave sinners believe that they are doing the
right thing.
However, it is a
deception of the enemy. Anytime you live outside the realm of the true faith,
you live in bondage. Because you don’t have a spiritual shield, the enemy
bombards you with his weapons. This is one reason we engage in deliverance
prayers for specific unbelievers. We do that because they need the shield of
faith to counterattack the enemy's arrows.
5. You can become an enemy of the Christian faith
Losing faith can make you
an enemy of the Christian kingdom. Remember, we have types and levels of faith.
For more profound revelations, download and read my book, How to Unlock the
Gate of Faith.
The book is free on my
blog and youtube channel. The Christian Kingdom is a kingdom of
faith. Without faith, we cannot walk and live with the Holy Spirit. We need
faith to do certain things in the Kingdom of Light.
However, when you lose
faith, you begin to criticize the Church, the Holy Bible, Pastors, Prophets, Apostles,
Evangelists, and Teachers of the faith. If you don’t take care, you can invite
curses to your life and lineage because of your destructive criticism and
attack on the body of Christ Jesus. Think twice when entering the realm of
unbelief!
6. You can lose Heaven
Unbelief can make you
lose Heaven. As we all know, losing Heaven guarantees the lake of fire. When
you lose faith in Christ Jesus, you become a child of the world and the devil.
Understand that no child of the devil has a place in Heaven.
You might have your
reason for losing faith in God, Christ Jesus, the Holy Bible, and the Holy
Spirit. However, know that God judges our hearts. If God gives you a chance to
return from your backslidden state and you refuse, Hell is your final
destination.
Now that you know some of
the dangers of losing faith, I will share with you seven reasons people lose
faith. Knowing these truths will enhance your faith in the Lord. Below are the
seven reasons why people lose faith.
Seven reasons why you are losing faith
1. Because you don't have time for God's word
…faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
Romans 10:17 KJV
As Paul states in the
Holy Bible, faith comes by hearing more of God’s Word (the Holy Bible). In
other words, the less you keep hearing God’s Word, the less your faith becomes.
Failure to connect with the Holy Bible makes you weaker in the faith.
Some people read their
Holy Bibles once a week, month, and year. Some people, too, listen to inspired
Christian sermons once in a blue moon. If you are in these categories, you can
easily lose your faith.
Studying the Holy Bible
is my habit. Because of this reason, I grow daily in the faith. Aside from
reading the Holy Bible, I read books inspired by the Holy Spirit and listen to inspired
Christian sermons to boost my faith.
If you have no time for
God’s Word, you will lose faith when trials and tests come your way. One thing
you must know about God’s Word is that it carries unquenchable light. The more
you feed on the Word of God, the greater your light (faith) becomes.
Do not neglect the power
of God’s Word. Feed on the Word of God if you want to grow in faith. Ignore God's
Word if you want to lose faith (meditate on Hebrews 4:12, 1 Peter 2:2, Romans
12:1-2 for more profound revelations).
2. Because of your association
Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.
1 Corinthians 15:33 KJV
Friends have a significant
impact on our lives. It took the mercies of God to escape the trap of a bad
friend. That friend almost landed me in the grave! I could have become a grave
sinner if not for the intervention of the Holy Spirit.
This friend took me to
several juju men (evil traditional priests). I encourage you to download and
read my books, especially All Things Work Together for Good to Them That
Loves God, for more wisdom keys.
I have shared most of my encounters
in that book. As Paul states in the Holy Scriptures (see 1 Corinthians 15:33),
evil communication corrupts good manners. The evil words you keep hearing from
strangers and unrepentant wicked vessels can make you lose faith.
Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that
love it shall eat the fruit thereof.
Proverbs
18:21 KJV
Death and life rest in
our tongues. Therefore, whatever you keep hearing forms a philosophy. This is
one reason you must choose wise and godly friends. Some people have a way of
watering down the Christian faith.
They can mislead you. These
people know how to misinterpret specific scriptures in the Holy Bible. If you
are not rooted in the Holy Scriptures, they can make you lose faith. Do not
equally yoke with people who have no interest in the Christian faith.
Watch out for the wolves
in sheep's clothing! They can turn your faith upside down! I encourage you to
download and read my books, Darkness Within the Light, Who is a
Christian Believer, and Forty Types of Christian Believers, for more
profound revelations. The books are free on my blog and youtube channel. Meditate
on these Holy Scriptures for more profound revelations.
Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what
fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath
light with darkness?
And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that
believeth with an infidel?
And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the
temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk
in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord,
and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,
And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters,
saith the Lord Almighty.
2 Corinthians 6:14-18 KJV
3. Because of your weak prayer life
…ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying
in the Holy Ghost,
Jude 1:20 KJV
Another reason you are
losing faith is because you have a weak prayer life. Maybe I should be
specific. You don’t have a prayer life. You must know that the Christian
journey takes a consistent prayer life to sustain the faith (meditate on Matthew
26:41).
By God’s grace, there is
no day that I don’t pray. Maybe the day I don’t pray or rarely pray is when I
am extremely weak. I have built myself to the extent that even in bed, I pray. Sometimes,
while in public, I pray silently in my mind.
As stated in the Holy
Scriptures (see Jude 1:20), we build our most holy faith by praying in the Holy
Ghost. There are over seventy strategic and tactical models of prayer. I
encourage you to download and read my book, 77 Strategic and Tactical Models of Prayer, for more profound revelations.
He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself; but he
that prophesieth edifieth the Church.
1
Corinthians 14:4 KJV
Pray more in the Spirit
to edify yourself. As you pray in tongues, you grow in faith. We can read Jude
chapter one, verse twenty this way. “Dear brethren, not praying in the Holy
Ghost destroys your most holy faith.
In First Corinthians
chapter fourteen, verse four, we can read the Holy Scriptures this way, “He
that fails to pray, sing, worship, and praise in an unknown tongue destroy
himself.” Failure to pray, especially in the Spirit, leads to faith destruction.
Are you destroying your faith because of your prayerlessness?
4. Because of what you take in.
Do you know that the
books you read, the videos you watch, the songs you listen to, and the games
you play affect your faith? Well, you might be ignorant of this truth. However,
I am sharing the truth.
Some books, videos,
songs, and games destroy our faith in Christ Jesus. This is one reason we must
read books inspired by the Holy Spirit. Once in a while, I read African tales
and famous tales for fun.
Other times, I read self-help books to grow my knowledge. However, I analyze a book before reading it. Analyze a book before reading because it can destroy your faith. This reminds me of a story a Bible teacher told me years ago. I cannot remember the entire lesson. However, what I remember was that a famous Christian became an atheist because of a book he read!
- What books are you reading?
- What videos are you watching?
- What games are you playing?
- What music are you listening to?
The words and scenes in
those materials can destroy your faith if they have no foundation in the Holy Bible.
5. Because you don't have a strong relationship with the Holy Spirit
I wish I had more time to
write on this point! However, time will not permit. The least I can state here
is that the Holy Spirit is the master controller of our lives. Let’s assume the
Holy Spirit is your phone’s battery while the phone is your faith.
What do you think will
happen to the phone when you fail to charge the phone’s battery? Definitely,
the phone will go off. However, when you charge the phone’s battery, the phone
becomes strong and usable.
The Holy Spirit is the
battery of our faith. The more we fellowship and relate with the Holy Spirit, the
more our faith strengthens. I feel so emotional when writing about the Holy
Spirit! My heart burns with unexplainable virtues when I write about the Holy
Spirit!
Please and please and
please, if you don’t want your faith to die, make the Holy Spirit your closest
friend. I think this should have been the first point. I encourage you to
download and read my series of books on the Holy Spirit for more profound revelations.
The books are free on my blog and youtube channel. I love the Holy Spirit! Again, I love the
Holy Spirit! He is my everything! Do not ignore the Holy Spirit if you don’t
want your faith to die.
6. Because of your environment
Your neighborhood
(workplace, school, social gathering, and home) significantly impact your
faith. If you live in a place where the people and activities oppose the things
of God, your faith can die.
For instance, if you work
in an environment where the workers hate the Church and anything that glorifies
Christ Jesus, the Holy Bible, and the Holy Spirit, you can fall from the faith.
You are likely to fall from the faith because the defiled words and actions of
the environment will deflate your faith. If you live in a corrupt environment
that constantly defiles the things of God, relocate to restore and regenerate
your faith.
7. Because of extreme independence and dependence spirit
One reason people lose
faith is because they are incredibly independent. I know some temperaments and
personalities love to be alone for some time. However, if you are too
independent, you become vulnerable.
On the other hand, some
temperaments and personalities love to hang around people for some time.
However, if you are too dependent, you become vulnerable. Let me tackle the
extreme introverts.
One thing about extremely
introverted (independent) people is that they easily become depressed. Anytime
you become depressed, it negatively affects your faith. This reminds me of an
African tale I read.
It was a bird. The bird
loved to be alone. He ate alone and stored food for himself. Because of that attitude,
most animals distanced themselves from the bird. Because of the extreme independence
and pride of the bird, it died, and no one knew it had died.
It was when one
inquisitive animal checked why the extremely independent bird had not come out
of its nest for several days. That was when the other animals realized that the
bird had died.
This is how most extremely
independent people lose their faith. Because they want to keep their problems
and share them with no one, they lose faith without knowing they are
backslidden. Let me share another fairy tale about highly dependent people.
This is an African fairy tale I read. It was a dog. According to the tale, dogs were not domestic
animals. They lived far from human beings because human beings were hostile to
them. Another reason dogs lived far from humans was because of fear.
However, a puppy (baby
dog) accidentally encountered a little boy one day. The little boy was friendly
to the baby dog. From there, the boy began feeding the baby dog in his room.
Because the dog received good treatment and meals from the little boy, the dog
decided to stay with the little boy.
Before that, the little
boy's parents had warned their child (the boy) to send the dog away. However,
the boy did not like the idea of his parents. The boy decided to feed the
little dog with his meal.
This meant the boy had to
share his daily meal with the dog. This was the agreement between the boy and
his parents. Fortunately for the dog, it grew into a large, lovely dog. One
day, the dog returned to its family in the bush and reported what the boy did.
The dog tried convincing
its parents that human beings were friendly. However, the dog's parents did not
respond. The dog returned to his friend, and life continued. Lucky for the little
dog (now grown up), it could convince a female dog about human beings in the
bush.
The female dog joined him
in the boy’s house. From there, the dogs started to have puppies in the boy’s
house. From that day, human beings began to see the friendliness of dogs. Some
human beings took some of the puppies to their homes.
As time passed, dogs
became more and more popular in the neighborhood. However, the more dogs
increased, the more vulnerable some became to wicked people. Some dogs were
used as meats in specific homes.
The lesson from this
African tale is that too much closeness creates vulnerabilities. The more you
get closer to someone, the more vulnerable you become. You are more likely to
hurt someone close to you than someone far from you.
One reason extremely
dependent people lose faith is because they want to please everyone in their circles.
For instance, some people backslide and deviate from the faith because the
people around them desire and demand it.
Be dependent (friendly).
However, apply wisdom. Like the dog, his closeness to humankind made it and its
lineage vulnerable. On the other side, be independent. However, do not die like
the extremely independent bird.
Apply wisdom. Do not lose
faith because of extreme independence and dependence. I will continue in the
next article. I couldn’t even share one point on what to do when losing faith.
Hopefully, as promised, I will expand on those points in the next article. Kindly share the link to this article to save a life.
