How to Dominate Evil (17 Unstoppable Ways to Dominate the Consciousness of Sin)
Introduction
One unique virtue of
humankind is the ability to differentiate evil from good. For instance,
children have the knowledge of good and evil. We don’t have to tell a young
child what is evil. That child can sense good and evil without anyone telling
him.
In childhood, I hid when
my parents came home because I knew I had done something wrong. My conscience
will bear witness to the fact that I have done something evil. Because of the
evil and punishment, I hide from my parents.
Analyze children. You
will often see that they hide when they do evil. Also, analyze adults who
engage in wicked acts. They hide when the police or authority figures draw
closer. An evil person has no rest because his conscience condemns him (see
Isaiah 48:22).
If you analyze the case
of Adam and Eve in the Holy Bible, they hide when sin entered their lives. Adam
and Eve never hid from God because of righteousness. However, the day they sinned,
they escaped the presence of God. That is how evil works. Every sound person
knows good and evil.
That is how God has made
us. Anytime we do evil, our hearts and minds condemn us. Sometimes, our hearts
beat faster when we are about to do evil. That is our heart-bearing witness.
One reason our hearts beat faster when we are about to sin is because sin is
not our nature.
God did not create us to
sin. We decided to sin. God cannot sin because He will not sin. God knows sin.
However, sin does not live in God (meditate on 1 John 1:5). Since God created
us in His image and after His likeness, we are unfamiliar with sin. Sin is an
enemy of God. Sin makes us uncomfortable.
Sin does great harm to
our lives. This is one reason we die when we sin. Death was not part of God’s
agenda for humankind. God wanted us to live forever because He lives forever. However,
sin opened the door for death to enter our lives.
I don’t want sin and
death to dominate you. Death is an enemy of God. I don’t want you to become an
enemy of God. This is one reason I am writing this article. I don’t want sin to
dominate you.
I want you to become a
friend of God. I want you to live above the consciousness of sin. I want you to
live in the consciousness of God. Before sharing the uncommon ways to dominate
sin, let me define sin.
What is sin
Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the
transgression of the law.
1 John 3:4 KJV
According to the Holy
Scriptures, sin is the transgression of the law. Breaking or disobeying the
laws of God is a sin. In other words, acting against the laws of the Holy Bible
is a sin. Any deed or virtue that challenges the Holy Bible is a sin.
Society accepting and
endorsing something does not mean that deed or virtue is not a sin. The public and
government can create laws in their constitution. The government and public
making a law is unacceptable in God’s sight if the law violates the divine law.
God accepts such laws if they are one with the Holy Scriptures. As far as the
laws challenge the Holy Bible, it is a sin.
An authority figure
accepting something as good does not mean it is good in the sight of God. For
instance, the government of your country can accept Lesbianism, Gay,
Bisexualism, Bestiality, Transgender, Transexual, and abortion as good.
The government endorsing
those acts does not mean God has accepted them. As stated, any deed or virtue
that opposes the wisdom of God (the Holy Bible) is a sin. It doesn’t matter who
made the laws.
As far as those laws
breach the laws of God, it is a sin. The Holy Bible is the final determinant of
good and evil. If the Holy Bible states that “Action A” is evil, that action is
evil. It doesn’t matter who endorses “Action A.”
As far as the Holy Bible
has stated that “Action A” is evil, it is evil. The Holy Bible has the final
say. Every constitution submits to the Holy Bible. No one is above the Holy
Bible. The Holy Bible determines what is evil and good. If the constitutional
laws agree with the Holy Bible, God endorses such laws.
However, if our laws have
no foundation in the Holy Bible, it is evil. I hope this foundation has broadened
your understanding of sin. Do not allow anybody to determine what is good or evil.
Every council and constitution must submit to the Holy Bible because the Holy
Bible is superior to every book. The Holy Bible is the foundation of life. The
Holy Bible determines what evil and good are, not systems and creation.
Sin must not have dominion over us.
Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it
in the lusts thereof.
Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness
unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead,
and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.
For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law,
but under grace.
Romans 6:12-14 KJV
I hope you read the above
Holy Scriptures. Sin must not dominate us because of grace. The grace of God
has empowered us to live above sin. Sin is an entity that expresses itself with
rebellious actions and virtues.
Sin reveals himself in unrighteousness.
Sin is the opposite of God Almighty (Christ Jesus). We can see the nature of sin
by observing Satan and his minions. Sin is the exact opposite of the Holy
Spirit. Because we are born again, sin cannot dominate us. We have power over
sin.
The seed that dwells in
us is greater than sin. Sin constantly rules people who are not born again (meditate
on 1 John 3:9; 5:18, Matthew 7:18, Romans 6:2, 1 Peter 1:23). Let me use this
analogy to help you understand my point.
Let’s assume that wearing
a white watch manufactured by a Ghanaian makes your fingers golden. Your
fingers becoming golden means your hands are unbreakable. In this case, the
white watch is the seed of grace.
Your fingers becoming gold
means your hands have a seal of unbreakability. Unbreakability means your hands
are unbreakable. Unbreakability is in my dictionary. I hope you get my point. Because
of the white watch, your hands become gold. Your hands becoming gold means your
hands cannot break.
In the same way, the
grace of God makes our spirit golden. We become unbreakable because of the
grace. Grace empowers us to live above the desire and influence of sin. The
grace of God does not mean we will not have the desire to sin.
The devil, evil people, and
the flesh can tempt us to sin. However, the grace of God gives us a strong
desire to live above the desires of sin. For instance, some medicines (legal
drugs) can make us stronger. The drug can boost our immune system.
In the same way, the
grace of God is a divine booster (drug) that makes us dominate the desire and pleasure
of sin. Because of grace, sin will not become pleasurable, like how the
unbelievers enjoy sin.
We will not have the
desire to enjoy sin because of God’s grace. We will be tempted to sin. However,
the desire to love sin will not be available. That is how the grace of God
works. A true child of God is not a slave to sin. Genuine children of God have
crucified the lustful desires of the flesh (meditate on Galatians 5:24, Romans
6:6).
However, a time comes
when we desire to fulfil the lustful desires of sin. We can tame the lustful
desires of the flesh because of grace. Before sharing with you how to dominate
the consciousness and desires of sin, get this right.
I am not sharing this
truth to empower people with a seared conscience. I am not endorsing people who
see nothing wrong in sin. Some people enjoy the pleasure of sin because of
their hardened heart.
I am not writing this
article to empower them. I am writing this article to help people who want to escape
the grip of sin. Some people are born again. However, they are addicted to sin.
It’s a paradox that a true child of God lives under the bondage of sin. Apostle
Paul had issues with the flesh. I will share those experiences; therefore, keep
reading.
The truth of the matter
is that ignorance has made many Christians live under the bondage of sin. This
is one reason I am writing this article. I don’t want you to remain in the
prison of sin. I want you to come out from the dungeon of sin so you can walk
in the fullness of the unquenchable light. Below are a few reasons why we must
not willfully and consistently sin. Kindly share the link to this article to save a life.
Seven things that happen when we allow the desire and consciousness of sin to dominate us
1. We lose faith
One thing about sin is
that it can make us lose faith in God. When we allow sin to dominate our
conscience, we start doubting God and His word. Sin has a devasting effect on
our beliefs. It can make us forsake the faith.
Some people have left the
true Church and joined the world and false societies because of sin. If we
allow sin to control us, it will lead us into the darkness. Sin can make us
doubt the power of God.
Sin can draw us from the
presence of Christ Jesus and the Holy Spirit (meditate on Isaiah 59:1-2). I
encourage you to download and read my book, Spiritual Keys for Life,
for a more profound revelation about sin. The book is free on my blog and
youtube channel.
2. We open the door for
Satan and his minions to dominate us.
Sin can make the devil
and his minions control the affairs of our lives. One thing about the devil and
his cohorts is that they come with sickness, death, depression, confusion, hopelessness,
shame, fear, and darkness.
When sin dominates our
hearts and minds, we empower the enemy to have his way in our lives. We must
control sin because sin can make us slaves to the devil and his minions. Keep
reading. I will teach you how to dominate sin.
3. We become more
addicted to sin
One secret seed about sin
is that it can enslave. The more we allow sin to dominate us, the more we
become his slave. Sin will become our master when we keep him in our hearts.
For instance, masturbation can be addictive.
The more we allow the
consciousness of sin to control our souls, the more we will keep doing it. It’s
like fire and diesel. The more we add diesel to the fire, the more the fire
blazes. Allowing sin to control us pushes us to sin more and more. We will have
no option but to sin when we keep pampering and contemplating sin. The more we
emotionalize sin, the more it has power over us.
4. We begin to condemn ourselves
Allowing sin to dominate
us can make us weak. Sin has power. It dominates weak souls. When we allow sin
to have its way, it frustrates, condemns, and abuses us. Sin is a spiritual
force. It can dampen our souls and make us depressed.
Sin can empower our
enemies to manipulate us. Sin can make the devil and his cohorts depress,
oppress, suppress, impress, and possess us. The more we allow sin to control the
atmosphere, the weaker we become.
5. We remain in bondage
There is a dark spiritual
prison that keeps unrepentant sinners from accessing the light of the Holy Spirit.
You might be alive physically. However, in the spirit, you are in a dungeon. This
dark dungeon is invisible to the physical eyes. It takes our spiritual eyes to
see this prison.
The Holy Spirit has
allowed me to access this place several times. Sadly, many people live in
chains and dark spiritual prisons guarded by demons. Living in sin and accursed
areas makes you a candidate for that prison.
It takes the mercies and
grace of God to escape this prison. If you want to escape the prison of fear, bewitchment,
envy, doubt, pain, poverty, shame, depression, and darkness, do not allow sin
to dominate you. Dominate sin. Keep reading. I will unveil the keys to dominate
the desire and consciousness of sin.
6. We limit the
assistance of the holy spiritual forces
One thing about sin is
that it limits the holy spiritual forces from accessing us. Sin empowers the
unholy forces to come closer. Sin is like a magnet. It attracts unholy
spiritual forces and repels holy spiritual forces.
When we allow sin to
dominate us, we deny the assistance of the holy angels of God. We make the holy
spiritual forces powerless in our lives when we allow sin to dominate us. When we
allow sin to control us, we give license to evil spirits and wicked people to control
our affairs and atmosphere.
7. We begin to depend on
our strength
Sin can make us forsake
the help of the Holy Spirit. Sin can make us independent of God. Sin can make us
proud. Sin can make us depend on our abilities, assets, and connections. When we
allow sin to dominate us, we allow the corrupt desires of the flesh and lustful
desires of the soul to control us, making us self-reliant and independent of
God.
Sin can make us judge
wrongly. Sin can blind our spiritual senses. What looks evil can look good to
us when we remain in sin. What looks good can look evil when we become hardened
in wickedness. Sin can make us reject the power, plan, purpose, and proficiency
of the Holy Spirit.
The case of Apostle Paul
For though I would desire to glory, I shall not be a fool; for I will
say the truth: but now I forbear, lest any man should think of me above
that which he seeth me to be, or that he heareth of me.
And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the
revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan
to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure.
For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from
me.
And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength
is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my
infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in
necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am
weak, then am I strong.
2 Corinthians 12:6-10 KJV
Apostle Paul struggled with
the messenger of Satan. The messenger of Satan contended with him. Apostle Paul
confessed to a thorn in the flesh because of the abundance of revelation
bestowed on him.
Apostle Paul struggled
with the lust of the flesh because of pride and humility. God often allows some
seeds to lower our pride. Apostle Paul struggled with the lust of the flesh. Apostle
Paul struggled with the flesh upon all the anointing and good works.
I firmly believe masturbation
was the dominant contender Apostle Paul battled. Masturbation can weaken our
soul and spirit. Masturbation can be addictive if you don’t know how to
dominate the desires and consciousness of sin.
Apostle Paul confessed to
the struggle of the flesh. Paul had emotions, desires, and affections like any
other human. According to the Holy Bible, Apostle Paul did not marry (see 1
Corinthians 7:1-7). If Apostle Paul did not marry and he was potent, then he
struggled with masturbation and sexual lust.
Apostle Paul confessed
that a messenger of Satan was sent to humble him. This messenger of Satan used
the thorn of the flesh (possibly lust) to humble Apostle Paul. Paul sought the
Lord three times so He could receive freedom.
However, God assured him
of grace. There are some infirmities (sin) that need the grace of God. I have
struggled with masturbation several times. One thing I saw about masturbation
is that it made me weak in the spirit.
Sometimes, I will have a
strong desire to engage in sexual acts. I am often tempted to watch porn videos
when I am idle. Sometimes, the feelings appear to me to watch porn videos to
satisfy my sexual desire.
These are some battles I struggle
with as a Christian believer. However, I have overcome it with God’s grace and knowledge.
Apostle Paul also struggled with the lust of the flesh! God allowed people to
humiliate Apostle Paul to make him humble.
Sometimes, God can allow
people to persecute us and say of all manner of evil to humble us. It’s part of
the thorn within the flesh. The messenger of Satan works with wicked people and
evil spirits to afflict us. These afflictions humble us when we rely on the
Holy Spirit.
Sometimes, the lust of
the flesh can make people masturbate. Some people fornicate because of the lust
of the flesh. Others, too, fight and do all manner of evil because of the lust
of the flesh. One thing about the lust of the flesh is that it is a daily
battle.
As far as we live in this
flesh, we will be tempted. I am tempted daily. However, with the grace of God
available, I walk in victory. One thing I have seen about sin is that it needs
our cooperation.
Sin cannot dominate us
without our submission. We can deny sin. We can humble the desire of sin. It
takes our willpower to engage in sin. Sin must negotiate with our soul before
controlling us. If we decide not to sin, the grace of God will empower us not
to sin. We can say no to sin. Sin can speak. However, we can reject his voice.
The second case of Apostle Paul
For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin.
For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but
what I hate, that do I.
If then I do that which I would not, I consent unto the law that it
is good.
Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.
For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing:
for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I
find not.
For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not,
that I do.
Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that
dwelleth in me.
I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me.
For I delight in the law of God after the inward man:
But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my
mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.
O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this
death?
I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I
myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.
Romans 7:14-25 KJV
Apostle Paul stated that he
does things he does not want to do. Paul confessed that it was sin that
dwelleth in his flesh that enabled him to do what he didn’t want to do. Sin can
live in our flesh.
However, sin cannot live
in our spirit because of the Holy Spirit. Apostle Paul confessed to his
wretchedness. The flesh has a way of controlling us. The flesh is like a gas.
The moment the gas (the flesh) meets fire (sin), it blazes.
That is how the flesh and
sin work. Naturally, the flesh wants to have its way. The Holy Spirit also
wants His way in our lives (meditate on Galatians 5:16-18). When the flesh agrees
with the desire of sin, they blaze. It takes the power of the Holy Spirit and
discipline (knowledge) to subdue the lustful desires of the flesh.
Like Paul, he did
tremendous work in the ministry. However, he struggled with the flesh. I cannot
state that Apostle Paul fornicated. However, I am assured that Apostle Paul
struggled with masturbation and sexual lust (desire to have sex) because these are
seeds of the flesh.
As stated, I have
struggled with masturbation several times. I have overcome masturbation by God’s
grace. Many people struggle with masturbation and desire to have sex. However,
it takes the grace of God and discipline to dominate lust and masturbation.
I have received several
messages from people telling me of their struggle with masturbation. They want
to come out of this lustful desire. The good news is that it is possible to
come out from masturbation.
I encourage you to read my article on masturbation for a more profound revelation. You can also
read my books that talk about sex and immorality for more wisdom keys. I have
written about five books on those subjects. We can come out from every bondage.
However, we must
understand that it is a daily battle. The more we allow the Holy Spirit to have
his way in our lives, the lesser the lustful desires of the flesh to control us.
We can dominate the desires of the flesh because we have the weapons. Connect
with me as I share profound truths on how to dominate the desires and
consciousness of sin. Kindly share the link to this article to save a life.
Ten ways to dominate the desires and consciousness of sin
1. Remember that we live
in a weak flesh.
Apostle Paul stated in
the book of Romans and Corinthians about the weakness and wretchedness of the
flesh (see 2 Corinthians 12:6-10, Romans 7:14-25). Relying on your strength is
a trap.
Some people practice
self-discipline. It’s good to tame the lustful desires of the flesh. However,
how long can you rely on your strength? Discipline can help. However, it has a
limit. Discipline can make you proud because it places a responsibility.
Remember, the moment you
become proud, God takes away his grace. You can discipline yourself. However,
submit to the grace of God! Understand that it is not by your might. It takes
the power of the Holy Spirit to dominate the desires and consciousness of sin.
We can stretch the flesh
to submit. However, the flesh has a breaking point. It is at this stage that we
must submit to the grace of God. We cannot survive a microsecond if God takes
away his grace.
Instead of depending on your
own strength, ask the Lord for grace. Apostle Paul rested in God's grace, and
the Holy Spirit empowered him to live above the desires of sin. Don’t rely on
your strength because it can fail you. Instead, rely on the grace of God and
apply knowledge.
2. Repent quickly and ask
for mercies
For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again: but the
wicked shall fall into mischief.
Proverbs 24:16 KJV
Anytime you fall, do not
remain there. Repent quickly and ask for God’s mercies. Remaining in the sin
and contemplating the evil makes you more vulnerable. I know there are times
you must show some remorse when you sin.
However, don’t stay there
for a long time! Repent as soon as possible! When you repent quickly, it re-enforces
the holy spiritual forces to back you up. However, emotionalizing sin will enslave
you. Repent quickly and move on!
3. Surrender your life to
Christ Jesus
Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness,
not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying.
But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the
flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.
Romans 13:13-14 KJV
Without Christ Jesus, we
cannot dominate sin. Christ Jesus has power over sin because He defeated sin
when He rose from the dead. When you repent and accept Christ Jesus as the
Savior and Lord of your life, He gives you the grace and power (Holy Spirit) to
dominate sin.
Some people try to
dominate sin with strange meditation, discipline, and dark rituals. Such
practices may work for a temporal time. However, real deliverance comes from
Christ Jesus. If you want to overpower the desires and consciousness of sin,
surrender to Christ Jesus. Surrendering to Christ Jesus is the master key!
4. Constantly fellowship
with the Holy Spirit
Another mighty weapon to
dominate the desires and consciousness of sin is to build a consistent
fellowship and relationship with the Holy Spirit. One thing I have seen about
the Holy Spirit is that He makes me stronger and more resistant to sin when I
fellowship with Him.
Fellowship with the Holy
Spirit through spiritual songs. Consistently praise and worship the Lord in
your chambers. It’s a great way of building your spiritual muscles. I encourage
you to download and read my series of books on the Holy Spirit for a more profound revelation. The books are free on my
blog and youtube channel.
5. Constantly renew your
mind with the word of God
One truth about sin is
that it reigns in our souls. We need the word of God (the Holy Bible) to
dominate the desires and consciousness of sin.
For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any
twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and
of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents
of the heart.
Hebrews 4:12 KJV
Is
not my word like as a fire? saith the LORD; and like a hammer that
breaketh the rock in pieces?
Jeremiah 23:29 KJV
Feed your soul and spirit with the word of God because the word of God
carries power. Like a drug, it cures sickness. The word of God is like a drug
that cures and heals the soul's sickness and the spirit's weakness.
When we take the word of God, it clears every darkness in our soul and
revives our spirit. Some ideologies, beliefs, and desires oppose the word of
God. We must eliminate these philosophies with the word of God (meditate on
Romans 12:1-2).
When we feed on the word of God, we grow in the realms of the spirit
(meditate on 1 Peter 2:2). Like a baby, he needs his mother's breast milk to
grow. The more the child feeds on the mother’s milk, the more he grows in
wisdom.
This wisdom helps the child to know evil and good and depart from evil.
The child becomes malnourished when he refuses to feed on the mother’s milk. The
child will remain a baby because he will do evil in ignorance.
However, a mature person knows best. When we feed on the word of God, our
spiritual senses grow, enlightening us. It’s time to feed on the word of God
because the word can empower us to live above the desires of sin.
6. Identify and close the
gateways
Nothing happens without a
cause. Sin has gateways. Identify the channels and close them. For instance, if
your electronic device is a gateway to sin, deal with the electronic device.
Maybe, anytime you are alone with your phone in a corner, you watch porn videos
and read erotic materials.
In this way, don’t stay
in a corner with your phone or electronic device. If possible, format your device.
Delete the porn videos and clear every information and data that pushes you to
sin with your device.
If the gateway to sin is
friends, create gaps with those friends. Whatever leads you to sin, close those
gates. Sin will not dominate you if you follow these keys. Build a consistent
prayer life by praying more in the Holy Ghost. These keys are enough to
dominate sin. I may share the other keys in the next article. Kindly share the link to this article to save a life.
